Baruntse Expedition:

Baruntse 7,129m. one of the popular and busy Himalayan peak at Nepal, situated between Honku and Barun glacier. There are two base camps, south base from Makalu region Barun glacier, north from Honku glacier Khumbu region. This Himalayan peak was first accent on 30th May 1954 New Zealand expedition team Colin Todd and Geoff Harrow from the south route.

 

From Kathmandu there are two ways to reach Baruntse base camp.

1. Direct flight from Kathmandu to base camp by helicopter.

2. Kathmandu to Phaplu by flight, trek to the Baruntse base camp.

As per our itinerary, flight to Phaplu Solu, drive to Taksindu monastery. Trek start from Taksindu through Kharikhola, Pangoma, Hongu valley, Mera base camp to Baruntse base camp. After summit to save the time flight back to Kathmandu by a helicopter, or six days trek back to Lukla and fly back to Kathmandu. For this Himalayan peak you need to book in advance for the climbing permits.

For the expedition, age doesn’t make any difference, if you are physically fit and healthy, between 18 to 70 years. During the expedition,if someone is seriously injured or sick,the only option is to be rescued by a Helicopter.

 

The rescue is quite expensive, everyone needs to buy travel insurance from their own country. If not, we will help. You can buy such insurance policies in Kathmandu too.

 

We believe that proper preparation, training, acclimatization, hygienic food and experienced Sherpa climbers make your expedition successful. For this expedition, you can make your own group or you can join with other groups. Before your arrival at Kathmandu all the necessary climbing permits, lesion officer, base camp staff, equipment and foods, climbing Sherpas, transportation and other requirements will be ready in time.

About the expedition services, number of climbing Sherpas, basecamp staff and cost, you can correspond by email, we will negotiate in a short period.

2. full services for the expedition.

Kathmandu assistance services:

We provide services for, expedition route permit and lesion officer, custom clearance at airport for the expedition equipment, ground transportation, domestic flight, helicopter flight to base camp, personal life and medical insurance for the lesion officer, Nepalese staff and porters, rescue flight if necessary, hotel reservation etc.

Full services for the expedition:

Tent accommodation, meals (breakfast-lunch-dinner) with hot drinks. human or animal porters, base camp staff cook, kitchen boys, climbing guide, climbing Sherpas (porters), one person one tent accommodation with double mattresses at base camp, dining tent with Table, stools and gas heater, Kitchen tent with kitchen utensils, store tent, shower tent, toilet tent, solar panel with battery for recharge electric device, Satellite phone sets for communication etc.

Note:High altitude tents, climbing gears, climbing equipment for Sherpa, high altitude foods, Oxygen bottles, HP gas, walkie-talkie sets etc. expedition team should bring or buy at Kathmandu.

Daily Itinerary:

Upon your arrival at the Tribhuvan international airport, our representative will welcome you with flowers, drive to stars hotel as your booking, welcome drinks at the reception check in room. Dinner at your hotel’s restaurant our tour manager will brief you about expedition and other necessary information.

Check the expedition’s equipment, shopping for other necessary items, just relax at the same hotel or visit as you like.

After breakfast, your guide will pick you up at the hotel, drive to the airport, about 32 minutes morning flight to Phaplu airport, meet with the expedition staff. Lunch at Phaplu. From Phaplu airport drive about 2 hours to Taksindu monastery by private jeep. Overnight camp at Taksindu monastery, very beautiful campsite with nice views.

After breakfast, start your first day trek, gradually descend through Nunthala, Fuleali to Dudh koshi river, cross the bridge stop for lunch. After lunch gradually climb to Siklis overnight camp at Khari Khola.   6 to 7 hours trek.

After breakfast, gradually climb to Pang Goma village for lunch and camp together. Very beautiful Sherpa village with nice views.   2 to 3 hours trek.

After breakfast, climb to Pangoma la about 3,147m. lunch on the way, trek continues through the forest, overnight camp at Naging Dingma.   6 to 7 hours trek.

After breakfast, trek through the forest, some parts a narrow trail, lunch on the way. Overnight camp at Cholem kharka. Which is known as Jungle camp too.   6 to 7 hours trek.

After breakfast, follow the Hinku khola lunch on the way, overnight camp at Khotea. Which is known as Thasing dingma too. There are some tea houses at Khote.   6 to 7 hours trek.

After lunch, continue to follow the Hinku river lunch on the way overnight camp at Taknak, there are several tea houses.   5 to 6 hours trek.

Now you are above 4,000m. you need to rest for high acclimatization, after breakfast, visit the glaciers and back to the camp for lunch. Day time take a hot shower and just relax at camp.

After breakfast, gradually climb for overnight camp at Khara.   5 to 6 hours trek.

After breakfast, gradually ascent to Mera la pass (5,370m.) descend to the valley at Kongma Dingma for overnight camp.   5 to 6 hours trek.

After breakfast, trek through Hungu valley, packed lunch on the way, overnight camp at Seto Pokhara, a small lake near the camp.   6 to 7 hours trek.

After breakfast, trek through Hunku glacier and mixed grassland, pack lunch on the way. Trek continued to Baruntse base camp.   6 to 7 hours.

Your Sherpa and staff will establish the base camp, set up all the tents at the base camp.

As a local Sherpa’s Buddhist tradition, worship before you climb Mt. Everest. A local Lama will offer a puja ceremony and hang the prayer flags at the base camp for the peace, long life and success of the expedition.

Check and fix your climbing equipment and make it ready to climb for the next days.

After four-night well acclimatize at the base camp, from day 18 to 31, during 14 days climbing period, from base camp to summit and back to the base camp will be enough time. If not, enough you can extend time for the summit.

Packing all your personal equipment. Staff will clean the base camp, collect all the garbage for disposal.

After dinner Tips for climbing Sherpas and base camp staff, celebrate the expedition success base camp party with team members and staff.

After a successful summit you’ll fly back to Kathmandu by a helicopter to save and share your happy time. Complete the expedition.

At Kathmandu airport our representative is waiting for you, drive to the star hotel, welcome drinks at the reception check in the room. Afternoon free, lunch as you chose at any restaurant.

If you like to trek back to Lukla, it takes only six days. You can take a few porters and a staff with you, trek back to Lukla. Our representative will arrange a flight from Lukla to Kathmandu.

Free day at Kathmandu, you can visit yourself as you like. Evening our representative will take you for a farewell Nepali typical dinner with culture program. After dinner back to the hotel.

After breakfast or lunch, our representative will drive three hours before your flight schedule to the airport, flight back to your destination.  Complete the trip.
