Cho-Oyu expedition:

Cho Oyu 8.188m. height is the 6th highest Himalayan peak at the world. Situated in the north east, Khumbu region Gokyo valley in Nepal. Cho-You is a border pillar between Nepal and Tibet (autonomous region of China) 20 km. west from Mt. Everest. Just a few kilometres west of Cho-Oyu is Nangpa La border 5,716m. the main trading route between the Tibetans and the Khumbu's Sherpas for a long time. This Himalayan peak can climb from both sides.

 

Cho Oyu was first attempted on summit 19th October 1954, via the north-west ridge by Herbert Tichy, Joseph Jochler and Sherpa Pasang Dawa, an Austrian expedition. Above 8,000m. high peaks, Cho-Oyu is the easiest peak to climb.

From Kathmandu there are two ways to reach cho-oyu base camp.

1. Direct flight from Kathmandu to base camp by helicopter.

2. Kathmandu to Lukla by flight, 7 days trek to the base camp.

As per our itinerary to reach the base camp, trek through Gokyo valley to base camp at Ngozumpa glacier. After the summit flight back to Kathmandu by helicopter to save your happy time to share.

 

 

For this expedition, age doesn’t make any difference, if you are physically fit and healthy, between 18 to 70 years. During the expedition, if someone is seriously injured or sick, the only option is to be rescued by a Helicopter. The rescue is quite expensive, everyone needs to buy travel insurance from their own country. If not, we will help. You can buy such insurance policies in Kathmandu too.

We believe that proper preparation, training, well acclimatization, hygienic food and experienced Sherpa climbers make your expedition successful. For this expedition, you can make your own group or you can join with other groups. Before your arrival at Kathmandu all the necessary climbing permits, lesion officers, base camp staff, equipment and foods, climbing Sherpas, transportation and other your requirements will be ready in the time.

Kathmandu assistance services:

We provide services for, expedition route permit and lesion officer, custom clearance at airport for the expedition equipment, ground transportation, domestic flight, cargo or charter flight to Lukla, helicopter flight to base camp, personal life and medical insurance for lesion officer, Nepalese staff and porters, rescue flight if necessary, hotel reservation etc.

Full services for the expedition:

We provide services for, expedition route permit and lesion officer, custom clearance at airport for the expedition equipment, ground transportation, domestic flight, cargo or charter flight to Lukla, helicopter flight to base camp, personal life and medical insurance for lesion officer, Nepalese staff and porters, rescue flight if necessary, hotel reservation etc.

Lodge or hotel accommodation during the trek to Gokyo, meals (breakfast – lunch – dinner) with hot drinks during the expedition period, human or animal porters, base camp staff cook, kitchen boys, Climbing guide, climbing Sherpas (porters), one person one tent accommodation with double mattresses at base camp, dining tent with Table, stools and gas heater, Kitchen tent with kitchen utensils, store tent, shower tent, toilet tent, solar panel with battery for recharge electric device, Satellite phone sets for communication etc.

Note:High altitude tents, climbing gears, climbing equipment for Sherpa, high altitude foods, Oxygen bottles, HP gas, walkie-talkie sets etc. expedition team should bring or buy at Kathmandu.

Daily Itinerary:

Upon your arrival at the Tribhuvan international airport, our representative will welcome you with flowers, drive to the star hotel as your booking, welcome drinks at the reception check in the room. Dinner at your hotel’s restaurant our tour manager will brief you about expedition and other necessary information.

Check the expedition’s equipment, shopping other necessary items for you. just relax at the same hotel or visit as you like.

After breakfast, your guide will pick you up at the hotel, drive to the airport about, 35 minutes flight from Kathmandu to Lukla (2840m.) During the short flight you can get an excellent view of Jugal Himal range, Gauri Shanker, Dudh Kunda and Kwangde. Lunch at Lukla meet with the expedition staff, after lunch an easy trek about two hours to Ghat village. If the flight is on time, if case flight delay, because of weather or other problem overnight stay at Lukla Hotel.

After breakfast, an easy trek lunch at Benker village. Trek continued to check the National park entry pass, lodge accommodation at Jorsalle village.   4 to 5 hours trek.

After breakfast, an easy trek to Larcha Dhoban, cross the suspension bridge at Dudh kosi, gradually climb up to Thoop Danda for tea or lunch. From this place you can see the first view of Mt. Everest. and Lhotse. Trek continues overnight hotel accommodation at Namche Bazaar.   6 to 7 hours trek.

At Namche bazaar, there are several hotels and lodges available. Your guide will find a good accommodation for your two-night stay at Namche. There are many trekkers shops, ATM and good Wi-Fi service.

Rest for high acclimatization visit Namche Sherpa villages, Namche monastery and national park museum overnight same place.From outside the national park museum, you can see a spectacular view of Mt. Everest summit and Khumbu Himalaya.

After breakfast, easy trek to Sanasa for lunch, after Sanasa there are two ways. The main route right hand side going for Thyangboche, the left-hand side for Gokyo valley, easy climb to Mong Danda stop for tea, from this place you can see nice view of Thyangboche and Fortse village. Descend to Fortse Tanga for overnight lodge accommodation.   5 to 6 hours trek.

After breakfast, gradually climb to Dole (altitude 4,200m.) for lunch. Now you are above 4,000m. You will feel very thin and dry air, trek slowly step by step, after lunch short rest trek continues Macharma for overnight lodge accommodation.   6 to 7 hours trek.

After breakfast, trek continues tea stop on the way lunch at Phanga (4,470m.) gradually ascending trek continue to Gokyo Lake for overnight hotel or lodge accommodation. There are several hotels and lodges available, your guide will like a good accommodation for your two-night stay.    6 to 7 hours trek.

After breakfast, early morning gradually climbing to Gokyo Ri (alt. 5,340m.) for the best Himalayan view and acclimatize. Take a Packed lunch (picnic) with hot tea or juice. From Gokyo Ri you can get a spectacular view of Cho you, Gyachung khang, Mt. Everest, Lhotse, Nuptse, Ama Dablam, Thamserku, Khangtega, Kusum Khangkaru, Tawuche, Makalu, Baruntse, Chamlang and many Himalayan peaks. After panoramic views descend to Gokyo at the same place.

After breakfast, trek through Ngozumba glacier to Cho Oyu base camp. There is not any fixed trail at the glacier, because not many trekkers use to visit Cho-Oyu base camp. You need to follow the stones, cairns pack lunch on the way.   6 to 7 hours trek.

Your Sherpa and staff will establish the base camp, set up all the tents at the base camp.

As a local Sherpa’s Buddhist tradition, worship before you climb Mt. Everest. A local Lama will offer a puja ceremony and hang the prayer flags at the base camp for the peace, long life and success the expedition

Check and fix your climbing equipment and make it ready to climb for the next days.

After four-night well acclimatized at the base camp, from day 15 to 42, during 28 days from base camp to summit and back to base camp will be enough time. If not, enough you can extend the time for the summit.

Pack all your personal equipment. Staff will clean the base camp, collect all the garbage for disposal. After dinner Tips for climbing Sherpas and staff, celebrate the expedition success base camp party with team members and staff.  Complete the expedition.

After the successful summit of Cho Oyu, you’ll fly to Kathmandu by a helicopter to save your happy time. At Kathmandu airport our representative is waiting for you, drive to the hotel and welcome drinks at the reception, check in the room. Afternoon free day, lunch as you choose at any restaurant. Evening our representative will take you for farewell Nepali typical dinner with a culture program. After dinner back to the hotel.

If you like to trek back to Lukla, it takes a four days trek with your staff. Flight out from Lukla to Kathmandu.

After breakfast or lunch, our representative will drive three hours before your flight schedule to the airport, flight back to your destination.  Complete the trip.
