This is one of the long duration lodging trek above 5,000m. elevation at east Nepal, Makalu Himalayan region. Makalu (alt. 8,485m.) 5th highest Himalayan peak in the world. During this trek you have to cross several high passes above 4,000m. to reach at Makalu base camp. Before you start the trek, try to check the weather condition.
For this trek not any alternate trekking trail same way going up and back. Between Tashi Gaou to Makalu base camp, there are not any local settlement only few tea houses and lodges are available for daily meals and accommodation, something is better than nothing.
It is completely remote area, you have to take all the necessary medical and daily use items along with you from Kathmandu. Tashi Gaou is the last village, Wi-Fi and phone service always problem. We suggest you bring your own satellite phone set or hire from Kathmandu for emergency call and service.
