16 days beijing - Lhasa to Kathmandu:

Dear all travellers, who love the Himalaya and the nature,
Here we offer a package trip Beijing, Lhasa (Tibet) to Nepal. Beijing is the capital of the People’s Republic of China. The China and Tibet (autonomous region of China) is large and diverse with over 120 tourist destinations. You may feel it is difficult to decide where to go and what to do for your first visit to China. The first time experience in China is important, and you should visit the best classic destinations with iconic attractions, experience all for memorable holidays once at your life or more.

During your two days staying at Beijing you can visit Tiananmen Square, Forbidden City, Wangfujing Street, palace musium, Hike the Great Wall of China and many other places.

Travel from Beijing to Lhasa there are two options, by flight or by Lhasa rail way. 
Beijing to Lhasa panoramic flight: There are direct flight between Beijing to Lhasa (LXA) Gonggar airport, it takes 4:10 minutes. There is different flight fare, for one-way economic it cost about US$ 319 to 519.00 per person. From Gonggar airport to Lhasa city distance is 60 km. which takes about one hour drive.


Beijing to Lhasa Qinghai-Tibet Railway:  As our package program trip will beginning from Beijing west (China) railway station, this is the highest elevation train in the world, travel by high-speed railway 3,757k.m. drive via Tanggula 5,068 m. and the highest tunnel in the world 4,905m.  


The train is equipped with oxygen supply systems and pressurized carriages, which can regulate air pressure and provide additional oxygen to passengers. You will pass through vast grasslands, snow-capped mountains, high-altitude lakes, grassy lands, grazeing yaks wild animals and local nomad’s tents.


There are three different kinds of train tickets. Normal seats, hard sleeper and soft sleeper. We suggest all our traveller’s guest, take soft sleeper tickets. Soft sleeper is more expensive than hard sleeper, because there is four berth compartment 75cm / 190cm beds with window. If you are traveling with your families or four persons it will be your own privet room with door. In peak season it is really difficult to get the soft sleeper tickets. We recommend taking either soft sleeper or hard sleeper according to your budget. For the hard sleeper Beijing to Lhasa, it cost CNY 720.00 and for the soft sleeper it cost CNY 1144.00 The ticket’s fare can be change any time without any notice.


Beijing-Lhasa Train Z21 departs daily at 19:53 local time from Beijing, West Railway Station and arrives at Lhasa Railway Station at 11:36 local time two days later, taking 39:43 hours to ride through as far as 3,757 km. cross over 8 provinces. 

Tibet Travel Permit: Tibet travel permit is needed for collecting your Tibet train ticket and also boarding the train. Once you book the train ticket with us, we will guarantee to get the Tibet permit for you. We will deliver the permit to your hotel or any other place you prefer in Beijing.

 

 

Meals and drinking in the train: You can get three meals a day and drinks from the dining carriage located in the middle of the train.
Usually, only Chinese dishes are available onboard. It costs about 20 CNY per meal. You can pay by cash, WeChat, and Alipay.
There are also trolleys loaded with food and drinks served in each compartment. You can buy food and snacks from the staff onboard. If all that Chinese food is not your taste, you can bring some instant noodles, you can get free boiled water from a hot water dispenser near the sinks on board.
We suggest you bring some snacks, fruits, cookies, chocklets, biscuits and drinks it will be much better during your railway journeys. 

 

 

 

 

 


After long drive by speed train at high elevation you will reach at Lhasa city.  Lhasa is the capital city in Tibet, which is situated 3,650m. above sea level. Potala is the highest elevation’s palace in the world, which is known as the roof of the world. Potala palace was built by King Songtsen Gampo 637 B.C. later rebuilt by the 5th Dalai Lama in the 17th Century. The palace is 130 m. above Lhasa city. The palace is built with three meters thick stone walls, 13 floors and more than 1000 different rooms. Today you can visit Potala as a state museum. Paying the entrance ticket, every tourist and pilgrimage can visit as official time. The palace will be closed on Sunday and government holidays in Tibet.


After complete the Tibet tours, explore Mt. Everest base camp, drive to Nepal / Tibet border Kerung to Kathmandu the capital of Nepal where you will feel completely different world and environment. At Kathmandu you can enjoy your holiday, city sightseeing, mountain flight and different activities.

Daily Itinerary:

Welcome to Beijing! There are 3 international airports in Beijing. (These include Beijing Capital International, Beijing Daxing International Airport and Beijing Nanyuan airport. After your arrival at Beijing airport transfer to your hotel in downtown Beijing as your booking. There are six different kinds of transport service from Beijing airport to downtown by Subway, Bus, Shuttle, Car, Town car and Taxi. Now days many drivers can speak English language which make easier between traveller and drivers. 
Enjoy yourself in the rest of the day to recover from your long-time international flight or explore the city on your own.
 

Beijing is one of the beautiful cities in the world, where you can enjoy and visit different places in short time.  You can do Morning Exercises at the Temple of Heaven; Temple of Heaven always attracts numerous tourists. To avoid crowds and enjoy local people's morning exercises. After visiting Temple of Heaven, after breakfast drive 2.5 hours to the Mutianyu section of the Great Wall of China. 
The Great Wall’s history more than 2,000 years and stretches more than 3,000 miles across several provinces of northern China. After visit the Great wall you can enjoy different activities at the Beijing city and test the real Chinese cuisine.
 

The speed train Beijing to Lhasa departure only at evening, you can visit different places at Beijing city as you like. You can visit Beijing's Tiantan Park, the Temple of Heaven, 
If there is more time, you can also enjoy the relaxing time exploring the ordinary local life through the old Hutongs. Take a rickshaw tour to travel through the narrow alleys with many featured shops standing on both sides.
In the late afternoon, you have to Beijing West Railway Station. Train No. Z21 from Beijing to Lhasa departs at 19:55. The Beijing-Lhasa train stretches 3753km all the way to Lhasa, crossing 8 provinces and running on the world's highest Qinghai-Tibet Railway. The total train is about 40 hours, arrives at Lhasa Railway Station at 12:29 after two days.
 

Enjoy your unique high-speed train and high elevation’s experience. It is quite a long journey at high elevation, it will be un-forget memory for anyone.
Pull up a window seat to view Himalayan mountains, shimmering lakes, plains grassy land, where yaks and wild animals are grazing, also you can see the local nomad’s tents and barren lands and deserts. After passing the source of Yangtse River, the train will reach the highest place at Tanggula Mountain Pass (alt. 5,072m.) world highest elevation’s Railway Station Tanggula is located at an elevation of 5,068m. You will get a short time to take a picture from the train with spectacular views. 
 

After the whole morning in the train enjoying the views outside, the train finally arrives in Lhasa at 12:29.

Lhasa Sightseeing (alt. 3,650m.)
After breakfast at hotel, visit Tibet’s most sacred Jokang monastery, located at the heart of the ancient town of Lhasa, it was built in the 7th century by the Tibetan King Songtsen Gampo’s queen Bhrikuti princess of Nepal. The monastery is 3 stories high, inside the monastery at ground floor you can see most sacred beautiful golden statue of Buddha Shakyamuni.  It has around 70 monks nowadays.
After Jokang walk to visit another sacred Ramuche Cho. Lunch near Potala palace. After lunch visit Potala palace; the palace was built by king Songtsen Gampo 637 B. C. after rebuild by 5th Dalai lama on 17th century. The palace is 130 m. above Lhasa city. The palace builds by three meters thick stones walls, 13 floors more then 1000 different rooms with two different colours. The White Palace mainly used for government administration, the Red palace was mainly used for religious functions and still has numerous chapels, including those containing reliquary stupas of the successive Dalai Lamas which are richly decorated in gold, silver and semi-precious stones. Today you can visit Potala palace as a state museum. Paying the enter ticket, every tourist and pilgrimage can visit as official time, the palace will close Sunday and government holidays at Tibet.
Afternoon sightseeing at ancient Bhakor street market. Dinner at Tibetan restaurant at Bhakor, back to same hotel.
 

After breakfast 7 km. drive to Drepung monastery which will take you 15 minutes. Drepung is the largest monastery in Tibet, built in the 15th century by Jamyang Choeje, one of Tsongkapa’s disciple. The monastery located up in a hill. There are four main colleges with numerous small chapels and house chapels, known as Khangtsen in Tibetan. Nowadays there are around six hundred monks at this monastery. Near Drepung there is a sacred Neachung Lhamu monastery which you can visit as same time.

After visit Drepung drive to Norbu Linka summer palace. Norbu Linka is the first summer Palace which was founded by the 7th Dalai Lama in 18th century. Nowadays there are few monks who look after the summer palace.

After visit Norbulinka summer palace drive to sera monastery. Sera monastery was founded in around 15th century by Jamchen Choeje who is another famous disciple of Tsongka pa, which is the second largest monastery of Tibet. There are three colleges with numerous chapels and house chapels. The most attraction to visit this monastery is to see the monks debating which hold from 3:00 to 5:00 Pm. Monday to Saturday.
After visit Sera and monk’s debating drive back to hotel, buffet dinner at hotel’s restaurant.
 

After breakfast at your hotel, about 60 km. drive along the Lhasa River beautiful Tibetan villages, the monastery at mountain. Ganden is the six biggest Gelukpa monasteries and it is the mother monastery of the yellow hat school. Where you can see the golden seat of Dalai lamas. From Ganden you can see beautiful view of valley and mountains.

After visit Ganden monastery drive back to Tshurphu H.H. Karmapa’s monastery which is 70 km. away from Lhasa. Lunch at Ganden or Tshurphu your guide will decide and inform you. The 1st Karmapa Dusum Khyenpa founded the Tshurphu Monastery in 1189, which became the main residence of the Karma Kagyu school. Tshurphu monastery’s Buddha statue was the largest one-piece statue in Tibet. 

After lunch drive to Yamdrok lake, On the way you will drive through high pass Kamba la, Karo la and Singi la. You can see beautiful holy lake Yamdork Tso, which is known as Turquois Lake at Tibet.
 

After breakfast at hotel check out the room, drive 140km. to Gyantse. Gyantse is the nearest border (Natula pass) with India Sikkim. Ay Gyantse visit the Kubum stupa and Pelkhor monastery after lunch at Gyantse drive 93 km. to Shigatse. 
Shigatse is the second largest city at Tibet, which is the home of H.H. Banchen Lama. En- route visit Shalu monstery. Drive to stars hotel as your booking check in room after short rest visit Tashilumpo monastery the seat of Benchen Lama. Tashilonpo Monastery which was built in 1447 by first Dalai Lama. After visit the monastery back to hotel for buffet dinner.
 

After breakfast check out room, visit Norbulinka palace of Benchen laka. Drive from Shigatse to Sakya monastery about 150km. check in room at hotel or guest house. After short rest visit Sakya monastery, which is very famous and old monastery at this region. There are a lot of historical articles in the monastery, among them are found a lot of the imperial certificates, gold signets, crowns, over 10,000 volumes of Tibetan books on astronomy, medicine, calligraphy, and history. Inside the monastery you can see several old Buddhist texts, huge juniper tree’s pillars and many other.

After breakfast check out room, drive from Sakya to old Tingri for lunch, from this place you can first view of Mt. Everest. After lunch drive continue to Zha Rongbuck check in room at Guest house. Visit the monastery of Trulshik Rinpoche, which is the hight elevation monastery at the world. From Rongbuk there is a high pass (Nangba la) border with Khumbu region, Nepal. Still many Tibetan people cross the border with Yaks to sell different Chinese goods at Namche Bazer during Augutst to October.

After breakfast check out guest house, drive back same route, after Tingri take friendship high way, turn right-hand side route to Piku Tso for lunch, after lunch drive onward to Kerung city. Overnight hotel accommodation at Kerung. Dinner at same hotel’s restaurant.              Complete the Tibet trip.

After breakfast check out the room, drive 27km. to border. Check out visa and custom at Chinese post, cross the friendship bridge. Vehicle and our representative waiting for you, drive to Nepal post, check the visa and custom drive to Syabrubesi for lunch, drive continue to Kathmandu stars hotel as your booking. Farewell Nepali typical dinner with culture program. After dinner back to hotel.                                                         

After breakfast city guide will pick up you at hotel, short drive to Swyambhu nath, which is oldest Buddhist stupa in the world, build before 2,500 years ago. Visit around the stupa, offering butter lamps, from Swyambhu you can see view of Kathmandu valley. Drive to Bhoudha nath, which is the biggest Buddhist stupa in the world, build late 15th or early 16th century. Around Bhoudha there are several Buddhist monasteries. Visit around the stupa and different monasteries. After lunch at Bhoudha, drive back to Kathmandu Durbar Square for sightseeing, visit different Hindu and Buddhist temples walk to Thamel tourist market. Dinner at Indian restaurant.

After early morning breakfast drive to Kathmandu airport for mountain flight. During one hour’s flight you can see spectacular views of Shisha Pangma in Tibet, Dorje Lhakpa, Phurbi Chyachu, Gauri Shanker, Dud Kunda Himal, above 8,000m. peaks Cho Oyu, Mt. Everest, Lhotse below 8,000m. peaks Gyachhungkang, Pumori, Nuptse, Baruntse, Chamlang, Ama Dablama, Thamserku, Khangtega, many unnamed Himalayan peaks, rivers, high trekking passes and famous Sherpa villages.
After one hour’s flight drive from airport to Bhaktapur old city’s sightseeing, lunch at Bhaktapur. After lunch drive to Patan Durber squar for sightseeing. Drive back to Kathmandu at your hotel. Evening farewell Nepali typical dinner with culture program, after dinner back to hotel.      After early morning breakfast drive to Kathmandu airport for mountain flight.
