Nepal offers a wide variety of trekking routes at different elevations. Here, we are delighted to introduce the popular Easy and Short-Duration Tea House (Lodging) Treks at different region.

Why Choose a Short Tea House Trek? 

This is the perfect holiday for those with  limited time and budget. It's accessible, less expensive, and ideal for families, friends, groups, or solo travellers.
These routes are designed for maximum enjoyment with minimal hassle. 

•    Simple Logistics: Forget heavy gear! You won't need specialized expedition equipment or tents.

•    Comfortable Stays: You will spend nights in local, simple hotels, guesthouses or lodges, enjoying basic but comfortable rooms and meals.

•    Minimal Support: A porter to carry your necessary personal gear and an experienced trekking guide will be always with you for all support.

Where You Can Trek:
This kinds of trekking is available in low-elevation regions where local accommodation and meals are readily available, including. 

•    Annapurna Region: Annapurna Base Camp (partial), Ghorepani/Poon Hill, Khopra Danda, Mohare Danda, and Kali Gandaki Valley.

•    Other Regions: Khumbu, Langtang, and Helambu.

Please note: The trekking Trails and lodges can become busy during peak season and good weather periods.

📅 Trekking season and weather: 

Choosing the right season is key to a memorable Himalayan experience. Here is a guide to the weather and views you can expect for our easy and short-duration treks.

Autumn Season (September - November) one of the spectacular, uninterrupted views of the mountains and high Himalaya. Perfect temperatures for trekking, making days enjoyable.

Spring Season (March - May) Spectacular clear views. The stable weather brings excellent visibility. Above 3,000m, beautiful landscape with Himalayan rhododendrons and various wildflowers in full blossom.

Winter Season (December to February) Clear skies at low elevations, the air is clean and visibility is excellent.Be prepared for cold. Temperatures drop significantly in the mornings and night, requiring warmer gear.

Summer Season (June  - August) High rainfall and lush greenery (if you don't mind the rain).Generally, not suitable for trekking. Heavy raining, poor visibility, landslides, and high river levels that may block trekking trails and motor road.

 

🛂 Important Pre-Trip Information:

Entry Visa for Nepal:
All foreign nationals, other than Indian citizens, are required to obtain a Tourist Visa to enter Nepal.

•    Pre-Arranged Visa: We suggest applying for an online tourist visa through the nearest Nepalese Embassy or Consular office in your home or neighboring country.

•    Visa on Arrival: Alternatively, you can obtain a Visa on Arrival at Kathmandu's Tribhuvan International Airport (KTM) or at any official land entry point from the Indian or Tibetan border.

For Visa on Arrival, you will need:
•    A completed visa application form ( you can take and fill up at immigration desk)
•    A recent passport-size photograph.
•    Your passport, valid for a minimum of six months.
•    The required visa fees (cash is often required).

Note: Be prepared to wait in a queue during peak travel seasons before the immigration office issues your tourist visa.

 

Flight and Transportation:
•   By Flight: There are numerous direct and connecting flights to Kathmandu's Tribhuvan International Airport (KTM) from around the world. Flight tickets can be booked through your preferred travel agent or directly online.
•    Entry by Road: If you plan to enter Nepal from the Indian or Tibetan border, direct transportation services are available.

Hotel accommodation in the City: Major cities offer a range of accommodation, from standard hotels to five-star luxury options, usually available with breakfast service.

Accommodation in the Trek: During the trekking period in the mountain regions (especially in areas like Mt. Everest Khumbu, Langtang – Helambu, Manang, Jomsom, Ghorepani and Annapurna), you will stay in normal hotels, lodges, and guest houses.

•    Facilities: These lodges offer comfortable accommodation with basic facilities, a dining area for meals, and often a warm bonfire for relaxing in high-altitude regions.

•    Sleeping Bag Suggestion: We strongly suggest bringing your own normal sleeping bag with an inner liner. Lodge blankets are not always warm or clean enough to meet personal standards. Your trekking guide will check and decide on the best accommodation available for your overnight stay.

Many tea houses and lodges provide hot shower and Wi-Fi service and device charging, which may require an extra payment. Note that tea houses in the Mt. Everest Khumbu region, especially in Namche Bazaar, often have better internet connections.

 

🍽️ Practical Trekking Details & Safety:

Daily Meals:
You will never go hungry on a tea house trek! The main staple is the traditional Nepali dish, Dal Bhat Tarkari (boiled rice, lentil soup, and vegetable curry/pickle), available at every tea house, lodges and hotels at the trekking routes.

The menus are diverse and offer options for both vegetarian and non-vegetarian preferences, including:
•    Breakfast Sets or normal.
•    Local Delights: Chapati, Tibetan breads, Momos (dumplings), and local Stews.
•    International: Pasta, Noodles, and sometimes Pizza.
•    Basics: Various fresh vegetables, potatoes, eggs, soups, and hot/cold drinks.
Guidance: Your trekking guide will always check the menu and advise on the freshest and most readily available options before you place your order.

Rescue and Insurance:
Your safety is paramount. In the remote mountain regions, treating a serious injury or illness can take a long time if relying on ground transport to the nearest clinic.
•    Helicopter Rescue from Kathmandu or Pokhara offers the fastest rescue service but is extremely expensive.
•    Action Required: We strongly advise you to issue a comprehensive travel insurance policy from your home country or in Kathmandu. Your policy must specifically cover emergency helicopter rescue.

Trekking Guide and porters: We provide an experienced guide who knows the region well and can secure the best restaurants, lodges, and guest houses, ensuring your safety and service. Your trekking guide will always check the menu and advise on the freshest and most readily available options before you place your order.

A porter is available if needed. If you are physically fit to carry your own personal gear, a porter is not necessary.One porter can carry between 25 to 30 kg of luggage. Between two trekkers one porter will be perfect. 

Trekking equipment check list:  Trekking boots, light shoes / trainers, warm or fibre pile jacket, fleece or sweater, shirts (x 2), long and short trekking trousers (and /or long skirt for women), waterproof poncho or umbrella, sun hat, sun glass, socks (x 3), underwear etc.

Other essential items: Kitbag and padlock, small rucksack, normal sleeping bag with liner, water bottle (1 litre capacity), head torch, personal first aid, sun cream (factor 15+) towel & wash kit, whistle, passport, passport-size photographs, plastic bags, money belt.

Optional: Camera (with high-capacity memory cards and extra batteries), trekking poles / walking sticks, binoculars, notebook, pen etc.

Bank and Cash
•    In the major City (Kathmandu/Pokhara): You can easily exchange foreign currency into local Nepali Rupees (NPR) at numerous banks. ATM services are widely available for use with debit or credit cards.
•    In the Mountains: These services are NOT available in the remote mountain regions. You must carry sufficient local currency (NPR cash) for your daily expenses, tips, and incidentals.
