Dear all trekkers,
Welcome, short and easy trekking for Pikey peak, Solu region.

Pikey trek is one of the easy and short duration treks, at Solu Khumbu region, where very less tourist than other areas. It is newly start for trek, some places there are not tourist standard lodges and restaurants for the trekkers. In near future it will be better, because it is Sherpa area at from Solu. 

This is really quite trekking area, with beautiful views of Himalaya, mountains, villages and natural environment. In spring season more beautiful with colourful rhododendron flowers. This trek will start Japre village, end of motor road, Trek pass through several small villages to Pikey peak, return back from other villages pass through Taktor, Junbesi, Mapung, Thupten chholing monastery, Ringmo, Taksindu, Fera, Chhiwang end at Phaplu airport.   

During this short period trek, you have to stay at local lodges. There are several lodges with restaurants some or not some not. Your guide will check and decide with you where to stay.

We will inform you all the details about this trekking before start from Kathmandu. During the trekking period your trekking guide he / she will inform and suggest you, each day’s activity and planning in details. 

Himalayan views: From Pikey peak you can get spectacular views of east to west Nepal’s all the Himalayan views at far distance. From east Nepal Kanchanjunga range, Makalu, Mt. Everest, Lhotse, Dud kunda Himal, Gauri Shanker, Maha langur range, Dhaulagiri range and other many more Himalaya you can see, if the weather allows. 

Trekking season and weather: This trek can go September to May, with families, friends or alone with a trekking guide. except monsoon (summer) season June to August heavily raining, landslide, high label of rivers may block the trekking trails. Not good visibility to see the Himalaya and mountains. 

During the spring season you can see colourful rhododendrons and other wild flowers in full bloom, clear views of the Himalaya and mountains. Spring season brings the happiness for all the local farmers and trekkers at solu region. 

In autumn season you can see spectacular views of Himalaya and mountains. At this region very clear weather modrate temperature. Many local farmers are busy and happy to collect their farming looks very happy, you will enjoy very much. 

Winter season December – February allows very clear weather with cold temperature, snowing at Pikey region. If heavy snowfall it will be difficult trek at Pikey peak to Taktor village.

Accommodation: There are several new lodges during the trekking period, some are good comfortable rooms with good meals some not at all. We suggest you bring your own sleeping bag, sometimes the lodge’s blankets are not clean and warm enough.

Daily meals: Main Nepali dish Dal Bhat Tarkari (boiled rice, vegetable, lentil with hot pickle) you will get in every tea houses. Each restaurant, you will get vegetarian or non veg. dishes, different kinds of breakfast set, lunch and dinner as chapati, Tibetan breads, momos, Stew, pasta, noodles, pizza, several items of fresh vegetables, potatoes, meats, eggs, soups, hot and cold drinks, which you can check at menu. 

Your guide will always check before your order what is fresh and available. At the country side, daily meals you can enjoy local organic fresh vegetables, fresh milk from cows and buffalos, local chicken, mutton and buffalo’s meats available. 

We can say proudly, each trekker who did trekking with our agency, many trekkers often back for next trekking in Nepal with us. We are not the best but better than other for our services.

Daily Itinerary:

Upon your arrival at the Tribhuvan international airport, our representative will welcome you with flowers, drive to the star’s hotel as your booking, and welcome drinks at reception check in room. Dinner at your hotel’s restaurant our tour manager will brief you about trekking and other necessary information.

After earlier breakfast at the hotel, today you’ll drive to Dhap. Drive to Dhap will take about 8 to 9 hours. From Dhap, you’ll trek to Japre. From a ridgeline south of Dhap, you'll start the trek, and as you near Sigane, the trail from Sigane follows a road under construction for the first couple of hours. The first village you reach is called Japre (2920 m), perched above a deep valley with nice views of Everest and NumburHimal. There’s a pretty little gompa and stupa here, and this is your stop for the night.

After breakfast at lodge at Japre, today you’ll head to Pikey Peak Base Camp. The trekking trail initially follows a dusty trail which later leads on an uphill trail to Bhulbule. From here the trail becomes steeper and climbs through the rhododendron forests and small settlement of Lhamuje. From Lhamuje, the trail become wider and follows a pasture where you can see grazing Yaks. Further you will walk through a long Mani Wall and ascend along the winding road to Pikey base camp. Here you can visit Yak Cheese factory and relish the magical view of mountains around.

Very early morning today, you'll follow a gradual trail to the view of point of Pikey Peak which is situated at around 4065m. from the sea level and you’ll find place covered with prayer flags. The views from this view point will be breathtaking. If the weather is clear, you'll be rewarded with panoramic views of mountain ranges like Mt Everest, Dhaulagiri, Manaslu, Thamserku, Kantega, Langtang etc. From the top of Pikey Peak, you'll follow a ridgeline which starts flat and then steepens as you enter the forest to Jase Bhanjyang, where breakfast you’ll have breakfast. And then you'll continue your walk through Phabuk, descend down to Taktor village trek continue to Junbesi. Junbesi is a beautiful Sherpa village with school and a monastery. 

Rest day at Junbesi (2,675m.)
After breakfast you can trek about one hours to Thupten Cholling monastery, which is the biggest monastery at Solu Khumbu region.After lunch at Thupten Cholling monastery trek back through Mapung village to Junbesi visit the monastery. Over night same lodge accommodation at Junbesi.
If someone not interesting visit Thupten Cholling monastery, they can rest at Junbesi.

After breakfast at Junbensi lodge, you trek to Taksindu with crossing the river at the bottom of village and climb through the forest up to Salung, from where there are views of Mount Everest (8848 m) if weather permitting. There are also gorgeous views out across the valley to Chiwong Monastery and down towards Phaplu. Continue on the trail, contouring and then dropping down to a stream before a short climb up into Ringmo, famous for its apple orchards and interesting apple products such as apple rakshi (alcohol), cider and apple pie. From here, there's a final short climb to Taksindu La, from where there are again great mountains views, and then a short descent to the Taksindu Monastery and your lodge. The Taksindu Monastery was built in 1946 and is usually open early morning or late afternoon. Please make sure to leave a donation if you visit.

After breakfast at Taksindu, same way back to Ringmo village trek pass through  beautiful path down to Phaplu. There's also the option of hiking up to Chiwong Gompa, perched high on a cliff overlooking the valley. This monastery was founded in 1923 and has magnificent celebrations Mani Rimdu festival in autumn once a year. After dinner Tips for trekking guide and porters. Trek successful gathering party with your trekking staff and team members.       Complete the trek.

After breakfast at Phaplu, you’ll take a short flight  fromPhaplu to Kathmandu. Upon arrival in Kathmandu vehicle waiting for you drive to hotel, you’ll check-in at hotel and you’ll have free time relax at hotel or visit the Thamel tourist market. 

After breakfast city guide will pick you up at the hotel, a short drive to Swyambhu nath, which is oldest Buddhist stupa in the world, build before 2,500 years ago. Visit around the stupa, offering butter lamps, from Swyambhu you can see the view of Kathmandu valley. Drive to Bhoudha nath, which is the biggest Buddhist stupa in the world, built in the late 15th or early 16th century. Around Bhoudha there are several Buddhist monasteries. Visit around the stupa and different monasteries. After lunch, drive back to Kathmandu Durbar Square for sightseeing, visit different Hindu and Buddhist temples, and walk to Thamel tourist market. Farewell Nepali typical dinner with culture program, after dinner back to hotel.   Complete the trip.

After breakfast or lunch, our representative will pick you up at hotel, before three hours your flight time drive to airport flight back to your destination.
