18 days Around Dhaulagiri Trek

Dhaulagiri 8,167 m. sixth highest peak in the world, Dhaulagiri circuit, one of the adventure trekking regions, known as Hidden valley in Nepal. From Pokhara drive by private vehicle to Darbang or more. Trek will start through several small villages, Baghara is the last village, but there are few tea houses until Italian base camp. These tea houses are neither good not comfortable for the tourist. During the trek, You have to cross two high passes above 5,000m. Franch pass and Dhampus pass. From Dhampus pass you can see spectaculat view of Annapurna Himalayan range, Kali Gandaki vally, Mustang region and Tibet border peaks. After the pass   descend to Kali the Gandaki valley, trek end at Marpha village.

The age doesn’t make any different for this trek, age between 17 to 70 years, anyone can do this trip if you are physically fit and healthy. Before start the trek at Hidden valley, you need to check the weather twice. If the weather changes or heavy snowfall you have to wait, at Hidden valley it may be difficult to cross Dhampus pass or back to France pass.

If someone seriously injured or sick, only the option is rescue by Helicopter. The rescue is quite expensive, everyone needs to buy travel insurance from their own country. If not, available we will help. You can buy such insurance policies in Kathmandu too. For the communication we will send satellite phone sets with enough balance.

We provide two man sharing double tent or single supplement tent with double mattress, dining tent with table and stools,kitchen tent with kitchen utensils, toilet tent, shower tent, staff and porter’s tent, an experienced trekking guide, cook, Kitchen boys, Sherpa helper, human porters, meals (breakfast + lunch + dinner) hot drinks and first Aid kits.

We will inform you all the details about this trek, before starting from Kathmandu. Trekking guide will inform you all the details each day’s trekking route and camp site. We suggest every trekker bring their own down sleeping bag -20C. as your size with liner.

Daily Itinerary:

Upon your arrival at the Tribhuvan international airport, our representative will welcome you with flowers, drive to the stars hotel as your booking, welcome drinks at the reception check in the room. Dinner at your hotel’s restaurant our tour manager will brief you about trekking and other necessary information.

After breakfast, your guide will pick you up at the hotel, 298 km. drive from Kathmandu to Darbang with trekking staff via Pokhara by private vehicle, lunch stop on the way overnight tented camp at Dharbang.    8 to 9 hours drive.

After breakfast, beginning your first day's trek, cross the bridge, gradual climb to Dharapani for lunch, easy trek to Sibang school for overnight tented camp.   5 to 6 hours trek.

After breakfast, easy trek through fields, descend to Dara for lunch, trek continue overnight tented camp at Muri School.    5 to 6 hours trek.

After breakfast, descend to juga pani for lunch, trek through rock cliff trail, overnight tented camp at Baghara village.    5 to 6 hours trek.

Baghara is the last village to Dhaulagiri base camp, after breakfast, trek through jungle, cross several small rivers and landslides, lunch stop at Lapche kharka, overnight tented camp at Dhoban.    5 to 6 hours trek.

After breakfast, trek through jungle lunch stop at Chauri Bhan, gradual climb to Italy base camp 5 to 6 hours trek. Good campsite with beautiful views.

Rest for high acclimatization, now you are above 3,500m. you will fill very dry and thin air, walk around or climb as you can. Day time take a hot shower, just relax at camp.

After breakfast, trek through landslide, cross the river often some time without bridge, packed lunch (picnic) with hot tea and juice overnight camp at Glacier.    6 to7 hours trek.

After breakfast, trek through the glacier there is no fixed trail, the glacier route always changes, packed lunch on the way overnight camp at Dhaulagiri base camp.    6 to 7 hours trek

After breakfast, gradually climb through the ridge up to French pass (5,360m.) From the pass you can see a spectacular view of Dhaulagiri, Tukuche peak, Dhampus peak and glacier. Pack lunch at pass if not windy, after pass easy but long trek to Hidden valley for overnight tented camp.    7 to 8 hours trek.

After breakfast, ascend to Dhampus pass (5,258m.) from pass you can see unbelievable a spectacular view of Dhaulagiri, Tukuche, Dhampus, Nilgiri, Tilicho, Annapurna range, border peaks and Kali Gandaki valley. After pack lunch steep descend to Yak kharka for overnight camp.    6 to 7 hours trek.

After breakfast, again descend to Marpha village for lunch. 2 to 3 hours trek.
After lunch Tips for trekking staff, they will drive back to Kathmandu. Trekkers with guide drive to Jomsom airport, overnight hotel accommodation at Jomsom.    Complete the trek.

After breakfast, about 20 minutes morning flight from Jomsom to Pokhara with guide, hotel’s vehicle waiting for you at Pokhara airport, drive to stars hotel as your booking, welcome drinks at the reception check in room, lunch and dinner as you choose at any restaurant.

After breakfast, one-hour boating at Fewa lake, lunch at lakeside, after lunch sightseeing at Davis fall, Tibetan refugee camp and peace stupa, dinner as you choose at any restaurant.

After breakfast, 200 km. drive by tourist bus to Kathmandu with guide, lunch on the way. At Kathmandu welcome drinks at the reception check in room, dinner as your choice at any restaurant.

After breakfast, the city guide will pick you up at the hotel, short drive to Swyambhu nath, which is oldest Buddhist stupa in the world, build 2,500 years ago. Visit around the stupa, offering the butter lamps, from Swayambhu you can see a very clear view of Kathmandu valley. Drive to Bhoudha, the biggest Buddhist stupa in the world, built in the late 15th or early 16th century. Around Bhouda there are several Buddhist monasteries. Visit around the stupa and different monasteries. After lunch drive to Kathmandu Durbar Square for sightseeing, from Durbar square walk to Thamel tourist market sightseeing. Evening our representative will take you for a farewell Nepali typical dinner with a culture program. After dinner back to the hotel.

After breakfast or lunch, our representative will drive three hours before your flight time to the airport flight back to your destination.    Complete the trip.
