27 days around Saipal Trek

Saipal trek is a very remote, less touristy area, close to the Tibet border at far west Nepal, only the arrangement camping trek is possible in this region. From my experience in autumn 2016, we took a 75 minutes flight from Kathmandu to Dhangadi, from Dangadi airport to Chainpur about 7 hours drive by jeep. Next day about 2 hours drive by local jeep from Chainpur to Rupa Tola village. Nowadays Rupa Tola to Tibet Kailash motor road under construction near future it will be complete, better and shorter for the around Saipal trek. Because the lower region is not so good views as higher.

If someone seriously injured or sick, only the option is rescue by Helicopter if the weather is good. The rescue is quite expensive, everyone needs to buy travel insurance from their own country. If not, available we will help. You can buy such insurance policies in Kathmandu too. For communication we will provide satellite phone sets with enough balance.

The age doesn’t make any difference for this trek, between 17 to 70 years, anyone can do this trip if you are physically fit and healthy. As this itinerary trek starts from Rupa Tola, trek through several villages, cross three high passes, and end at Simikot airport.

On this trekking route Lapari is the last village with the border police post. There are not any settlements between Lapari to Chala village Humla, but there are several tea shops between Lapari to Halhalea open only during the summer season for the local people to collect the herbs.

During the trek, If the weather allow you can see view of Tiber border peaks, Saipal and Rakse peak. Before cross the pass you have to think about the weather. If the weather changes or heavy snowfall it is not possible to complete the trek. After Toban pass to Chala village it is completely hidden.

For this trek, we provide two man sharing double tent or single supplement tent with double mattress, dining tent with table and stools, kitchen tent with kitchen utensils, toilet tent, shower tent, staff and porter’s tents, an experienced trekking guide, cook, Kitchen boys, Sherpa helper, human porters and First Aid kits.
