Dear all trekkers, who love the Himalaya and nature. At Nepal there are many kinds of trekking routes at different regions and elevation. Tea house (lodging) trek is one of the easy and less expensive trekking.
During the trek you have to spend night at a local simple guest houses, lodges or hotels with basic rooms and meals, which is less expensive and easy then tented camping treks. For the teahouse (lodging) trek, you need just a porter to carry your few necessary personal trekking equipment as season and a trekking guide for a busy trekking area in busy season.
You can go tea house trekking at Mt. Everest Khumbu region, Langtang - Gosaikunda, Helambu, Manaslu circuit, Annapurna circuit, Annapurna base camp, Ghorapani Khopra and Kali Gandaki valley as well.
There are some tea houses treks at Kanchenjunga base camp, Makalu base camp, Manang Nar khola, Phoksumdo lake and Rara lake regions, but until now these tea houses (lodges) are neither good nor comfortable, not truthful for trekkers.
There are different tea houses with good facilities, comfortable accommodation with two single beds in each room, attached bath room, dining area for meals and relaxing, with warm fire at Mt. Everest Khumbu region, Manang, Jomsom, Annapurna and Ghorepani region. During the trekking period, your trekking guide will check and decide a good accommodation for overnight.
Main Nepali dish Dal Bhat Tarkari (boiled rice, vegetable, lentil with hot pickle) you will get at every tea houses. On the menu you will get different kinds of breakfast set, lunch and dinner as chapati, Tibetan breads, momos, Stew, pasta, noodles, pizza, several items of fresh vegetables, potatoes, meats, eggs, soups, hot and cold drinks as well.
Your guide will always check before your order what is fresh and available, Some teahouses with wi-fi and charging devices are available at the dining hall which you may need to pay an extra certain amount sometime. Teahouses in the Khumbu region have better internet connections (especially in Namche Bazaar)
There are several tea house (lodging) trekking at diffrent region, short or long dueration, which you can choose as your holidays time and budget. We suggest you bring your own sleeping bag, sometimes the hotel or lodge’s blankets are not warm enough.
