Dear all trekkers,

Tashi Delak! welcome to Saka Dawa 2026 festival at Mt. Kailash Tibet.

About Saka Dawa: Saka-Dawa the auspicious date of birth, enlightenment and Pari nirvana (pass away) of Lord Buddha Shakya muni, which is a very special holy day for each Buddhist  all over the world. According to Buddhist Tibetan calendar each year’s 4th month is Saka Dawa, during the 4th month the full moon is the main day to celebrate festivals at Kailash. During this holy month, many Buddhist people refrain from invoving in act of sins like eating meat and killing the animals.while dedicating themselves in performing virtuous deed as much as possible.

At that time many people gather from different parts of Tibet-China, India, Nepal and other parts of the world to participate in the festival at Kailash which will be really crowded, sometimes difficult to get hotel or guest house accommodation at Darchen, Dera Phuk and Zuturl Phuk. For this trip our Tibet agent who will book all the accommodation in advance.

Fact about Kailash: The holy sacred spiritual mountain is known as Khang Rinpoche by local Buddhist Tibetan, where the word Khang entitled is referred to snow in Tibetan  and Rinpoche as honrofic meaning to "precious one" . This  precious jewel of snow is  known as Mt. Kailash by Hindu religion, height of 6,638m. above sea level, situated at west Tibet. As local Buddhist religious believe the eastern face of Kailash is Crystal, the western ruby, Northern gold and the Southern face is Sapphire. Which is the holy mountain for Buddhist, Hindu, Bon and Jain religion.

The rocky path around Kailash is 52 km. During the trip the most difficult part is Dolma la pass 5,630m. because of high elevation and dry thin air Local pilgrims walk around Kailash rocky path in a single day about 14 hours journey.

 

For this trip, it takes three days to complete the journey around Mt. Kailash. Some trekkers may get high altitude sickness, or face difficulty to walk during the journey therfore  there is always an option to ride a yak or pony to complete the journey.

Fact about Manasarovar:  In Hindu Sanskrit word ‘Manas’ means mind and ‘Sarovar’ means lake whereas in Buddhism it  is called Tso Ma pham. The sacred holy lake situated at surface level of 4,590m. covering surface of  88km with 90 meter depth. Once there were eight Buddhist monasteries around the lake, symbolizing the wheel of life. Most of the monasteries have disappeared, still you can visit Gotsuk, Seralung, Trugo and Chiu Gonpa (monasteries) around the lake. A small spring flows from Manasarovar to Rakchas Tal which is called Gang Ga. At the same place there is a natural hot spring, you have to pay a certain amount for a hot shower or bath.

For this fixed departure package trip, all the necessary permits, vehicles, trekking guide, hotels, and guest houses accommodation arranged in advance before your arrival.

This trip will starting from Kathmandu via Kerung Tibet border, ending at Kathmandu after complete the trip as our detail ininerary. At Tibet, Lhasa agent will provide comfortable tourist standard vehicle, Jeep for small group, van for middle group and Bus for large group.For this package trip you have to book two months in advance, for arrange all the accommodation reservations, travel permits and other necessary documents at Tibet.

High altitude sickness and solution: High-altitude sickness occurs when your body can’t get enough oxygen because the lower air pressure at higher elevation above 3,000m. when you ascend too quickly during the trek. At High elevation anyone at any time can be suffering from high-altitude sickness which is common, you don’t have to be nervous but please be attention. 

If you feel symptoms of high – altitude (Headache, vomiting, loss your appetite, Dizziness and trouble falling asleep) stop to ascending immediately descend as soon as possible. Eat enough garlic soup, take lots of hot drinks and rest. Next day you will feel better, if not your guide will look for another solution.

Booking information:  25% from the total amount, deposit as advance, bank transfer to our bank account before two months period departure the trek. Balance 75% should be paid before starting the trip. 

Cancellation and refund: After 25% deposit if you cancel your trip before 2 weeks period, we can refund 50% from your deposit. After starting the trip at Tibet, if you cancel or cut the trip short, we are not able to refund any amount which you paid.

Warm Welcome: Upon your arrival at the Tribhuvan international airport, Our representative will meet you at the airport terminal with a personalized sign, handling your luggage, welcome you with colourful flowers, drive to star hotel as your booking. Upon arrival at your hotel, you will be served a refreshing welcome drink at reception while our team assists with your check-in.

First Evening & Briefing: In the evening, you can enjoy dinner at your hotel or a local restaurant. During this time, our Tour Manager will conduct a comprehensive briefing, covering your trekking itinerary, safety protocols, and any other essential information for your upcoming adventure.

Heritage tours at Kathmandu: After breakfast, the city guide will pick you up at hotel for sightseeing at world heritage list by UNESCO at different places. Heritage tours beginning short drive to Swyambhu nath stupa, which is oldest Buddhist stupa in the world, build 2,000 years ago. Visit around the stupa, offering the butter lamps for your good Karma and future for all. 

Swyambhu stupa: Swayambhu Mahachaitya, also known as the "Monkey Temple," sits on a hill overlooking the valley. It is one of the most recognizable symbols of Nepal, characterized by its all-seeing Buddha eyes.

Panoramic Views: Offers a 360-degree view of the Kathmandu Valley, especially beautiful at sunrise and sunset.
Religious Harmony: A unique site where Hindu shrines and Buddhist monasteries coexist side-by-side.

Bhouda Stupa: Boudha Stupa, is one of the largest spherical stupas in the world. It serves as the spiritual hub for the Tibetan Buddhist community in Nepal.

Pilgrimage Route: Join hundreds of pilgrims in "Kora," the ritual of walking clockwise around the massive white dome while spinning prayer wheels.
Monastery Hub: Surrounded by over 50 Tibetan monasteries, the air is often filled with the sound of deep chanting and ringing bells.

Mandala Design: The entire structure is a 3D representation of the Buddhist cosmos, with 13 steps leading to the spire representing the stages of enlightenment.
Lunch: You can take lunch and enjoy the beautiful view of Bhouda stupa. After lunch drive to Kathmandu Durbar square.

Kathmandu Durbar square: The Durbar square is the historic epicentre of the city, where kings were once crowned. It remains a vibrant public space where ancient rituals are still performed daily.

Kumari Ghar: The residence of the "Living Goddess," a young girl worshipped as a manifestation of the goddess Taleju.

Hanuman Dhoka: The old royal palace complex, featuring numerous courtyards and a museum dedicated to Nepal's monarchy.

Taleju Temple: A magnificent 16th-century temple that stands as the tallest structure in the square, traditionally open to the public only once a year.

After Heritage tours, walk from New Road to Thamel for dinner and back to hotel.

After breakfast our representative will pick up you from your hotel, drive 150km. from Kathmadu to Kerung border by privet vehicle, after lunch check out Nepal immigration and custom, cross the friendship bridge at border check in Chinese immigration and custom, meet with Tibetan guide and drivers. 

Tibetan guide and driver welcome you with their tradition Khatak, change the vehicle drive 28 km. to Kerung town for overnight hotel accommodation. Buffet dinner at hotel’s restaurant.

After breakfast at hotel, beginning the journey for Kailash, drive through open land, where you can see beautiful view of Sisapangma and other Tibet Himalayan peaks. Lunch stop at Piku Tso, after short rest drive continue cross Brahmaputra river’s bridge overnight Hotel accommodation at Saga. Buffet dinner at hotel’s restaurant.

 Breakfast + lunch + dinner with hot drinks.   3-star Hotel at Saga.

After breakfast drive pass through Dongba, new Dongba to Paryang for lunch. After lunch drive continue Ngari Pingya sum to Hor chu, issue Manasarovar entry ticket, drive around lake VIA Saralung and Trugu monastery, overnight accommodation at Guest house, Chiu Gompa Manasarovar lake side. Buffet dinner at guest house restaurant. Saga to Manasarovar lake 435km. drive.

 Breakfast + lunch + dinner with hot drinks.  Guest house at Chiu Gomba. 

Early morning after bed tea offering puja at holy Lake, after breakfast visit Chiu Gompa back to guest house for lunch, take natural hot spring bath at Gan Ga, day time rest for high acclimatization, overnight same Guest house at Manasarover Chiu Gompa. Buffet dinner at guest house restaurant. From the lake you can see far view of Mt. Kailash.

 Breakfast + lunch + dinner with hot drinks.   Same Guest house at Chiu Gomba.  

After breakfast drive to visit Tertapuri monastery after lunch at Tertapuri, drive back to Darchen overnight accommodation at hotel. Buffet dinner at hotel’s restaurant.

After breakfast 7 km. drive Darchen your hotel to Saryong (Tarbochhe) to participate Saka-Dawa fest, after fest drive back to Darchen for lunch, afternoon free time as you like. Near Tharbuche there is a main gate for holy Kailash, which called ‘’Yama Dwar’’ as Hindu. From Yama Dwar you see spectacular view of Kailash west face. Dinner at Chinese restaurant as your choice menu.

After breakfast drive 7 km. until Tarbuche (Yama Dwar)  trek start along the river for Kailash circuit. Lunch on the way at tea shop, after lunch trek continue to Dera Phuk for overnight accommodation at guest house. En-route you can visit Chhuku and Dira Phuk monastery next side of river. From Dera Phuk you can see giant view of holy Mt. Kailash north face. Buffet dinner at guest house restaurant. 
13km.

 Breakfast + lunch and dinner with hot drinks.  Guest house at Dera Phuk.  Approx. 3 to 4 hours easy trek.

Early morning after breakfast, take your head torch light, trek start gradually climb to Dolma la pass 5,648m. from Dera phuk to Dolma la pass 6 km distance you need to climb 568m. because of high elevation and dry thin air you have to walk slowly step by step. Before pass you can see the view of Kailash east face. Pack lunch at the pass with hot Tea or juice. Offering the prayer flags at Dolma la, just below the pass a small beautiful glacier lake is called Gauri Kunda (as Hindus) descend 6 km. rocky path to the valley Shabji Thato.  Stop at local tea shop take hot soups and tea, another 8 km. easy trek to Zuturl Phuk monastery. From this valley you can see the view of Mt. Kailash south face. Overnight accommodation at Guest house. Buffet dinner at guest house restaurant. 
 Breakfast + lunch and dinner with hot drinks.  Guest house at Zutrul.  Approx. 20 km. 8 to 10 hours long day adventure trek.

After breakfast visit Zutrul Phuk cave monastery, where you can see the head and finger print of Buddhist saint Milarepa at rock. From Zuturl Phuk 7 km. trek about 2-3 hours trek near Darchen, from this place you can see Manasarovar lake, if you like you can drink tea or juice at tea shop take rest, vehicle waiting for you 5 km. drive to Darchen for lunch, after lunch 35 km. drive to Hor chu Manasarovar lake side for overnight accommodation at Guest house. Buffet  dinner at guest house restaurant.

 Breakfast + lunch + dinner with hot drinks.  Guest house at Hoor Chhu.  Approx. 4 to 5 hours.

After breakfast same route drive back to Paryang for lunch, after lunch continue drive to Saga for overnight hotel accommodation. Buffet dinner at hotel’s restaurant.

After breakfast drive to Piku Tso for lunch, after lunch drive continue to Kerung for overnight hotel accommodation.

After breakfast, visit Kerung town and some monasteries, check out the room drive to the border. Tips for guide and drivers, check out Chinese immigration and customs, cross the friendship bridge, check in Nepalese immigration and custom, Nepali vehicle waiting for you after lunch at Nepal 150 km. drive from  border to Kathmandu, accommodation at star hotel as your booking. Welcome drinks at reception check in room.Farewell Nepali typical dinner with culture program. After dinner back to the hotel.   Complete the holy pilgrimage trip.

After breakfast at your hotel, your city guide will pick you up, you will follow the Arniko Highway (NH03), 15 km. which is a well-paved road heading east. As you leave the dense city centre, the landscape opens up slightly before you reach the ancient gates of Bhaktapur.

Heritage tours at Bhaktapur: Bhaktapur Durbar Square is often called an "Open Air Museum" and is the most well-preserved of the three valley kingdoms. The area is largely car-free, making it perfect for a walking tour. You can visit at Bhaktapur:

55-Window Palace: This 15th-century masterpiece features incredible woodcarvings and was once the seat of royalty.

Pottery Square: A short walk away, you can watch local artisans spinning clay on traditional wheels and drying thousands of yogurt pots in the sun.

Golden Gate: This serves as the entrance to the main courtyard of the palace and is considered one of the most beautiful pieces of metalwork in the world.
After Heritage tours drive to Patan for lunch.

Patan Heritage tours: Patan Darbar Square located in the city of Lalitpur, is famous for its concentration of fine arts and bronze craftsmanship.

Krishna Mandir: A stunning stone temple dedicated to Lord Krishna, built entirely of stone with intricate carvings depicting scenes from the Mahabharata.

Patan Museum: Housed inside a former royal palace, this museum is widely regarded as one of the best in South Asia for its collection of sacred bronze and copper statues.

The Golden Temple (Hiranya Varna Mahavihar): A unique Buddhist monastery located just north of the square, famous for its gold-plated facade and peaceful inner courtyard.

Taleju Bell: A massive bronze bell used in ancient times to alert the king to the grievances of the citizens.

After the Heritage tours drive back to hotel at Kathmandu, re-fresh for dinner.

 Farewell Dinner: Evening our representative will take you for a farewell Nepali typical dinner with a culture program. After dinner back to hotel.
