Mera 6,462m. one of the beautiful and busy trekking peak at Khumbu region Hinku valley. With my experience Mera peak is one of the best trekking peak for the Himalayan views, from the summit you can see a spectacular views of Kanchenjunga, Makalu, Baruntse, Chamlang, Lhotse south, Nuptse, Everest, Ama Dablam, Thamserku, Kwangde and many Himalayan peaks.
There are several ways to reach Mera peak. In a short period of climbing a high peak it will be dangerous from high altitude. We suggest that you start from low elevation. Slowly acclimatize to climb the peak. As itinerary flight to Phaplu airport, drive to end of motor road, trek through Taksindu, Dudh kosi river, Kharikhola, Panggoma, Naging dingma, Kothea, Taknak to Mera peak after summit back to Lukla flight out from Lukla to Kathmandu.
Between Lukla and Mera peak there are several tea shops, which are not comfortable for trekkers. For this trek, we provide two man sharing double tent or single supplement tent with double mattress, dining tent with table and stools, kitchen tent with kitchen utensils, toilet tent, shower tent,
an experienced climbing guide, cook, Kitchen boys, Sherpa helper and porters, meals (breakfast + lunch + dinner) and hot drinks. We suggest every trekker bring their own down sleeping bag -20C. as your size with liner.
The age doesn’t make any difference for this trek, between 17 to 70 years, anyone can do this trip if you are physically fit and healthy. If someone is seriously injured or sick, the only option is rescued by a Helicopter if the weather is good. The rescue is quite expensive, everyone needs to buy travel insurance from their own country. If not, we will help. You can buy such insurance policies in Kathmandu too. For the communication we will provide satellite phone sets with enough balance.
We will inform you all the details about this peak climbing and trekking, before starting from Kathmandu, there will be one porter between two trekkers to carry 20 to 25 kg. luggage.

Upon your arrival at the Tribhuvan international airport, our representative will welcome you with flowers, drive to the star hotel as your booking, and welcome drinks at the reception check in the room. Dinner at your hotel’s restaurant our tour manager will brief you about peak climbing, trekking and other necessary information.
After breakfast, your guide will pick you up at the hotel, drive to the airport, about 32 minutes morning flight to Phaplu airport, and meet with the trekking staff for lunch at Phaplu. Drive about 2 hours from Phaplu to Taksindu monastery by private jeep. Overnight tented camp at Taksindu monastery, very beautiful campsite with nice views.
After breakfast, start your first day trekking, gradually descend through Nunthala, Fuleali to Dudh koshi river, cross the bridge stop for lunch. After lunch gradually climbed to Siklis overnight tented camp at Khari Khola. 6 to 7 hours trek.
After breakfast, gradually climb to Pang Goma village for lunch and camp together. 2 to 3 hours. Very beautiful Sherpa village with nice views.
After breakfast, climb to Pangoma la about 3,147m. lunch on the way, trek continues through the forest, overnight tented camp at Naging Dingma. 6 to 7 hours trek.
After breakfast, trek through the forest, some place with a narrow trail, lunch on the way. Overnight tented camp at Cholem kharka. Which is known as Jungle camp too. 6 to 7 hours trek.
After breakfast, follow the Hinku khola lunch on the way, overnight tented camp at Khotea. Which is known as Thasing dingma too. 6 to 7 hours trek. At Khote there are few tea houses.
After breakfast, continue to follow the Hinku river lunch on the way overnight tented camp at Taknak, there are several tea houses. 5 to 6 hours trek.
Now you are above 4,000m. you need to rest for high acclimatization, after breakfast, visit the glaciers and back to the camp for lunch. Day time take a hot shower and just relax at camp.
After breakfast, gradually climb overnight camp at Khara. 5 to 6 hours trek.Check your climbing equipment. Your guides will give a detailed information about climbing, and he will demonstrate about how to use crampons, rope, Ascender, and how to ascend and descend.
After lunch, climb to high camp, under a big rock. 3 to 4 hours climbing.Today you have to take an early dinner and bed, because tomorrow you need to wake up early in the morning, your guide will inform you.
Wake up early in the morning, take a cup of coffee or tea.Take your head torch light, gradually ascending to the summit. Just below the summit there is a deep crevasse. You need to be careful; it is very important to fix ropes until you reach the summit and descend. Your guide will be fixing the ropes as necessary. From the summit you can see a spectacular view of Kanchenjunga, Makalu, Baruntse, Chamlang, Lhotse south, Nuptse, Everest, Ama Dablam, Thamserku, khangtega, Numbur, Karyalung and many Himalayan peaks, Hongu valley and Baruntse glacier. At the summit there is enough space for panorama views and takes a packed lunch. Descend to high camp, take some hot drinks and soup, continue to descend to Khara for overnight tented camp. 7 to 8 hours to summit and back.
Descending is more difficult than ascending, because after the summit you feel tired, and in the afternoon very slippery snow! always fixed the rope with your climbing harness.
After breakfast, descend the same way back to Taknak for lunch, trek continues overnight tented camp at Khote. 6 to 7 hours trek.
After breakfast, take the right-hand side trail, lunch on the way overnight tented camp at Thuli Kharka also known as Zatrawa. 5 to 6 hours trek.
After breakfast, gradually climb to Zatarwa la (4,590m.) from the pass you can see a clear view of Dudh Kosi valley, Lukla airport, Kwangde, Karyalung and Numbur. After lunch, descend to Lukla overnight hotel accommodation at Lukla. 5 to 6 hours trek.
After dinner Tips for trekking staff, peak summit and trek successful gathering parties with staff and team members. Complete the trek.
After breakfast, 35 minutes morning flight to Kathmandu with your guide, vehicle waiting for you, drive to the hotel, welcome drinks at the reception check in room, lunch and dinner as you choose at any restaurant.
After breakfast, city guide will pick you up at the hotel, a short drive to Swyambhu, which is the oldest Buddhist stupa in the world, built 2,500 years ago. Visit around the stupa, offer butter lamps, from Swyambhu you can see clear views of Kathmandu valley. Drive to Bhoudha, the biggest Buddhist stupa in the world, built in the late 15th or early 16th century. Around Bhoudha there are several Buddhist monasteries. Visit around the stupa and different monasteries. After lunch drive to Kathmandu Durbar Square sightseeing, from Durbar square walk to Thamel tourist market sightseeing. Evening our representatives will take you for a farewell Nepali typical dinner with a culture program. After dinner, back to the hotel.
After breakfast or lunch, our representative will drive three hours before your flight schedule to the airport flight back to your destination. Complete the trip.
