Makalu (8,463m.) 5th highest peaks in the world, which is situated north-east of Nepal. From Kathmandu short flight to Tumlingtar, drive about 4 to 5 hours from Tumlingtar airport to Num village by Jeep, first night tented camp at Num bazaar. The trek will start from Num, through many farms, rural villages of Rai, Limbu, Bharman, Chettri and Sherpas.
The age doesn’t make any difference for this short trek, from 17 to 70 years, anyone can join this trip if you are physically fit and healthy. Some trekkers like to go on a tea house trek, which is not comfortable for trekkers and difficult. There are few tea shops on the trekking route to Makalu base camp, these tea houses are neither good, not comfortable, not truthful for trekkers. We provide two man sharing double tent or single supplement tent with double mattress, dining tent with table and stools, kitchen tent with kitchen utensils, toilet tent, shower tent, an experience trekking guide, cook, kitchen boys, Sherpa helper and porters, meals (breakfast + lunch + dinner) and hot drinks. We suggest every trekker bring your own sleeping bag, because of your size.
This trekking is good for the Himalayan views, but the same way to go up and the same way to return back .We will inform you all the details about this trek, before starting from Kathmandu. Trekking guide will inform you all the details each day’s trekking route and camp site at Makalu region.

Upon your arrival at the Tribhuvan international airport, our representative will welcome you with flowers, drive to stars hotel as your booking, welcome drinks at reception check in room. Dinner at your hotel’s restaurant our tour manager will brief you about trekking and other necessary information.
After breakfast, your guide will pick you up at the hotel, drive to the airport for a 45 minutes flight for Tumlingtar, from an airplane you can see a giant view of Makalu. meet with trekking staff, lunch at the airport. From Tumlingtar airport drive about 3 to 4 hours to Num village for overnight tented camp.
After breakfast, start your first day trek, descend to Arun river, cross the suspension bridge climb to Bhet gari for lunch, after a short rest climb to Siduwa village for overnight tented camp. 5 to 6 hours trek.
After breakfast, trek to Naba gaou for lunch, trek continue to Tashi gaou for overnight tented camp. At Tashi gaou there is a good campsite with beautiful views. 5 to 6 hours trek.
After breakfast, trek through forest and bamboo bush, lunch on the way, gradually climb through forest to Khongma la for overnight tented camp. Good campsite with some tea houses and a beautiful view. 6 to 7 hours trek.
After breakfast, gradually climb through rhododendron forest up to Kongma la cross Sipton la trek through Kalo Pokhari, to Tin Pokhari. Today you will get a pack lunch (picnic) with hot tea or juice, to save the time. Trek continues after Keke La pass descends to Dhobate for overnight tented camp. Camp site was not good but a really nice view, there was one tea house. 5 to 6 hours trek.
After breakfast, descend to Barun river, follow the river, lunch stops on the way, trek continues to Yangri kharka there are few tea houses very beautiful campsite. 6 to 7 hours trek.
Now you are above 3,500m. you need to rest for high acclimatization, after breakfast visit Shiva Dhara back to camp for lunch. Day time take a hot shower and just relax, save your energy for Makalu base camp.
After breakfast, easy trek along the Barun river, lunch at Taa Tasha (one tea house) trek about one hour and climb to Langmale kharka one tea house very beautiful campsite with views of Hongu peak. 5 to 6 hours trek.
After breakfast an easy trek, nice view of Hongu and other peaks, lunch at Shershong trek continues to Makalu base camp for overnight tented Makalu base camp. This place is called Makalu base camp but the real base camp is at the glacier. The camp site is not so good but the views are perfect with a giant view of Makalu. There are few tea shops the ladies from Tashi gaou. 6 to 7 hours trek.
After breakfast, explore the real Makalu base camp back to camp for lunch afternoon free just relax. From this place separate the route for an adventure trekking Sherpani Col. Ama Labtsa to Khumbu valley.
After breakfast, descend to Langmale for lunch, trek continues to Yangri kharka for overnight tented camp. 5 to 6 hours trek.
After breakfast, the same route back lunch on the way, after lunch gradually climbing to Dhobate for an overnight tented camp. 5 to 6 hours trek.
After breakfast, gradually climb up to Keke La pass, descent to lake for lunch, trek continue to Khongma for overnight tented camp. 5 to 6 hours trek.
After breakfast, descent to Tashi gaoun for lunch trek continues to Siduwa village for overnight tented camp. 7 to 8 hours trek.
After breakfast, descent to Arun river, gradually climb to Num village for lunch, after lunch drive by jeep to Tumlingtar airport for overnight hotel accommodation. 4 to 5 hours trek.
After dinner Tips for trekking staff, trek successful gathering parties with staff and team members. Tomorrow early in the morning the crew will drive back to Kathmandu. Complete the trek.
After breakfast, morning flight from Tumlingtar to Kathmandu with your guide, at Kathmandu airport vehicle waiting for you, drive to the hotel welcome drinks at reception check in room. Lunch and dinner as your choice at any restaurant.
After breakfast, the city guide will pick you up at hotel, short drive to Swyambhu nath, which is oldest Buddhist stupa in the world, build 2,500 years ago. Visit around the stupa, offering the butter lamps, from Swayambhu you can see a very clear view of Kathmandu valley. Drive to Bhoudha, biggest Buddhist stupa in the world, build late 15th or early 16th century. Around Bhouda there are several Buddhist monasteries. Visit around the stupa and different monasteries. After lunch drive to Kathmandu Durbar Square for sightseeing, from Durbar square walk to Thamel tourist market sightseeing. Evening our representative will take you for a farewell Nepali typical dinner with a culture program. After dinner back to the hotel.
