Dear all trekkers and climbers,
Namaste! A warm welcome trekkers and climbers from all over the world. We invite you to trekking at Annapurna region and Pissang peak climbing. Which is a true paradise for those who love high-altitude adventure, untouched nature, and the serene mountain environment.
About Pisang Peak: Pisang Peak (elevation 6,091 m.) is one of the most iconic and beautiful trekking peak in Nepal. Standing as a perfect pyramid of ice and rock, it rises directly above Pisang village in the Annapurna Region.
Technically, Pisang Peak is more difficult and dangerous to climb than many other trekking peaks. The route involves navigating loose rock, snow, and ice, descending is often more treacherous than the ascent.
If you are interested in knowing about all the trekking peaks, heights, regions, and royalties in Nepal, please visit our website at: Name of the Trekking peaks and height
The final ascent: A direct summit push from Base Camp is not feasible due to the elevation gain; therefore, establishing a High Camp is a mandatory part of our strategy. The terrain is characterized by steep, rocky sections that require focus and stamina.
Difficulty grade: While Pissang peak looks steep from the Base Camp, the actual climb does not require advanced rock climbing techniques. The ascent is primarily on ice and snow. The most challenging section is found just below the summit, where the slope reaches a 60-degree angle.
To ensure a safe climb, your climbing guide typically fix ropes for both the ascent and descent on the steepest sections. This allows climbers to focus on their breathing and movement without the stress of technical route-finding. "To ensure your safety during the ascent and descent, please stay closer together. There are many loose rocks that could fall."
Achieving success on Pisang Peak: To reach the summit of Pisang Peak, you do not need to be a professional mountaineer. However, three pillars are essential for a successful expedition:
1. Physical fitness: While technical logistics are managed by our team, you should be physically fit, well-acclimatized, and mentally prepared.
2. Thorough acclimatization: Before making the early morning summit push from High Camp, you must be fully acclimatized.
3. Mental confidence: Descending back to High Camp can often be more taxing and riskier than the ascent. Your guide will provide a thorough safety briefing for the descent, but you must remain completely confident in your abilities.
The golden rule: While the early morning push to the summit is exhilarating, the descent back to Base Camp is often the most dangerous phase of the expedition. Move slowly and maintain absolute concentration during the rappel and the long trek back to Base Camp. Every step counts until you are off the ice.
Strategic planning: You don't have to worry about missing your chance at the summit due to bad weather or health conditions. We include an extra reserve day to ensure you reach the top safely and comfortably.
Himalayan Panorama from summit: The Himalayan panorama is always grander from a high elevation, Pissang peak offers something unique. As you journey past Pisang, you will see spectacular views. You will see the same legendary Himalayan peaks from entirely new and breath-taking angles.
From the summit if the skies are clear, you will be surrounded by a 360- degree theatre of giant Himalayan peaks including, Annapurna II.III.IV, Ganga Purna, Glacier Dome, Lamjung, Chi yo, Himlung, Khangkaru and Manaslu.
Himalayan panorama after Throung or mesokanro pass: From Throng pass or after cross the mesokando pass, you will see another spectacuar Himalayan views of Dhaulagiri range, Tukche peak, Dhaupus peak, Nilgiri, several Mistang region Tibet border peaks and Kali Gandaki (Thak - koola) valley.
High altitude sickness: For high-altitude sickness, safety, and rescue information, visit our link at: high altitude sickness - safety and rescue
"If anyone is suffering from high altitude sickness, there is a Himalayan Rescue Association (HRA) clinic in Manang village that offers daily check-ups by experienced doctors."
For first-time climbers, preparation at Base Camp is key to a successful summit. Your climbing guide will lead a mandatory practical training session to ensure you are comfortable with your equipment before leaving the tent.
1. Mastering the gear:
2. Fixed-line techniques:
3. Mountain safety protocols:
Maintaining Distance: You will practice keeping a safe distance from the climber in front of you to avoid rope tension issues or falling ice / snow.
Required climbing gear: For your safety and comfort on the mountain, please ensure you have the following technical equipment. You are responsible for providing your own gear; however, high-quality equipment can be purchased or rented in Kathmandu if needed.
2 non-locking carabiners 1 pcs, 2 D-Shaped locking carabiners 1 pcs, Steel Crampons 1 pair, Alpine climbing harness 1 pcs, mountaineering boots with high altitude liners 1 pair, Ice axe 1 pcs, Ski pools 1 pair, Ascender 1 pcs, climbing helmet 1 pcs, Snow Glass 1 pcs, Snow gloves 1 pair, Expedition style gaiters (ensure fit over your boots) 1 pair.
Note: Please bring your own climbing gear. If needed, you can purchase or rent equipment at a trekking shop in Kathmandu. We will only provide the fixed ropes and main rope.
Journey highlights: While it is now physically possible to drive a 4WD vehicle directly to Pissang village (alt. 3,300m.) to save time, we strongly discourage this approach. Driving directly to high altitude significantly increases the risk of Acute Mountain Sickness (AMS). gradual ascent helps your body adjust safely.
The expedition begins at Chame Bazaar, the gateway to the high Manang valley. The trail follows the Marshyangdi River, winding through a landscape that transforms from lush pine forests to the dramatic high-altitude desert of the rain shadow.
After successfully descending from Pissang peak, the expedition continues through Manang village and across its most famous Throng pass (Annapurna circuit) descend to Muktinath. From Muktinath, a scenic drive takes you through the windswept Kali Gandaki Valley, to reach Jomsom Bazaar.
To save the time your journey concludes with a spectacular early morning panoramic 20 to 25 minutes flight from Jomsom to Pokhara. As the small plane weaves between the massive peaks of Dhaulagiri and Annapurna. This is not just a transfer; it is a scenic flight through the world’s deepest gorge.
