10 days Pikey peak:

Dear all trekkers,
Namaste! A warm welcome to trekkers from every corner of the globe. We are delighted to invite you to explore the breath-taking trek to Pikey peak at Solu region. Which is a untouched nature, and the serene mountain environment.

About Pikey Trek: While often called a "Pikey peak," Pikey is actually a ridge. It serves as the ancestral yak pastures for the local communities, specifically the Goleay people from Goli and Gyapchu, and the Chawa people from Ghorakhani village. Pikey known ''Pikey Lhasa'' in Sherpa and ''Pikey Danda'' in Nepali language.

It is the closest point to Kathmandu where you can witness five of the world's fourteen 8,000-meter peaks. This trek is the perfect choice for those who want the ultimate "Everest experience" without the gruelling 14-day commitment or the extreme physical intensity required for Everest Base Camp or Kala Patthar.

Specifically designed for travellers with limited time, this short and scenic journey offers a profound Himalayan experience and a spectacular mountain panorama in just a few days.

The Journey Highlights: While there are several ways to reach the Pikey ridge, the most scenic and gradual route begins after the motor road at Jhapre. You'll trek through lush rhododendron forests and open high-altitude pastures where yaks graze. If you trek in the Spring, the forests around Pikey region explode with the bright red and pink colours of the Himalayan Rhododendron.

Simpler Facilities: The lodges are more basic. While some are cozy and comfortable, others are quite rustic with limited heating and shared facilities. They make up for in authentic Sherpa hospitality and home-cooked meals (Dal - Bhat - Tarkari here is often fresher and more organic!).

The Descent: After panorama from Pikey ridge, the trail takes you on a beautiful cultural loop. You’ll drop down into Taktor village to Junbesi, one of the region’s most beautiful Sherpa villages. This is a great place to visit the Thupten Choling Monastery. Next day you’ll pass through Taksindu, before reaching Phaplu. From here, you can end the journey drive back to Kathmandu.

Panorama: From the ridge in clear weather you can see above 8,000m. Mt. Everest, Lhotse, Makalu, Kanchanjunga and Manaslu. Below 8,000m. Gauri Shanker, Jugal Himal range, Numbur, Karyalung and other Himalaya.

Please Note: For all the specific route details, lodging and trip information, please follow the ''day - by - day itinerary'' at the bottom of this site.

Emergency Helicopter Evacuation: Your safety is our absolute priority. In the event of serious illness or injury, our guides are trained to act immediately. They will maintain constant communication with our Kathmandu-based agency to coordinate a rapid response. Helicopter rescues are reserved for life-threatening situations.

100% Emergency only, not a fake rescue: We can arrange a helicopter evacuation from any point on the trail back to Kathmandu within a few hours (weather permitting). To ensure a smooth and life-saving rescue, we require all our guests to have travel insurance that specially covers helicopter rescue and medical evacuation. Our team will handle all the logistics with your insurance provider and the helicopter operators so that you can focus entirely on recovery.

Travel Insurance: Unfortunate illness or injury can happen to anyone, anywhere. Your safety is paramount. Because ground transport to the nearest clinic can be slow, we rely on rapid aerial response.

•    Helicopter Rescue from 'nearest place' Kathmandu or Pokhara offers the fastest rescue service but is extremely expensive.

•    Action Required: We strongly advise you to issue a 'comprehensive travel insurance policy' from your home country or in Kathmandu. Your policy must specifically cover emergency helicopter evacuation and medical expenses.

Pro Tip:  Please Always carry a digital and printed copy of your insurance certificate and the 24-hour emergency contact number for your provider.
