Dear all trekkers,
Namaste! A warm welcome to trekkers from all over the world. We invite you to easy and short duration trekking at Ghorapani Pooh-hill and Khopra ridge region. Which is a true paradise for those who love the untouched nature, and the serene mountain environment.

About Ghorapani - Khopra ridge: The Ghorepani to Khopra Ridge Trek is a fantastic, short-duration option in the Annapurna region of western Nepal, near from Pokhara. The first leg of the journey to Ghorepani and Poon Hill follows a popular and vibrant trekking route. However, once you head toward Khopra Ridge, the crowds thin out, offering a much closer view of Annapurna south for your experience.

Bonus: Enjoy free Wi-Fi throughout the Ghorapani - Khopra region!

Highlights about the trek: Your journey begins at Ulleri village (1,961m), following a scenic drive from Pokhara. The trail ascends through lush forests of rhododendron, oak, and pine toward the famous Poon Hill view tower (3,210m). From there, the route winds through Swanta village before climbing to the spectacular Khopra Ridge.

From Khopra day hike to Khayar Lake (4,660m), your highest elevation point. The return journey takes you through Tadapani and descends into the iconic Ghandrung Gurung village, where you will catch your return drive to Pokhara.

"This trek is a once-in-a-lifetime experience that will leave you feeling truly exhilarated. Surrounded by breath-taking nature and stunning Himalayan vistas, the serene environment is the perfect escape to find lasting happiness, and leave the stress of daily life behind."

Himalayan panorama: From Ghorepani Poon Hill, you can view a spectacular panorama that includes the Kali Gandaki Valley, the Upper Mustang region, and the peaks near the Tibet border if the weather is clear.
Above 8,000m. Himalayan peaks are Dhaulagiri I (8,167m.) Annapurna I (8,091m.) Manaslu (8,163m.)

On the West: The entire Dhaulagiri range (I to V), along with mountains like Gurja, Mukut, Tukche Peak, Thapa peak and Dhampus Peak.

On the East: Annapurna range (I to IV), Annapurna South, Hiun Chuli, Mardi peak, Fluted peak the iconic Machhapuchhere (Fish Tail), Nilgiri, Manaslu, and many other giants like Ganggapurna, Glacier Dom, and Lamjung Himal.

How the trek starts & progression: During your 14-days trip, you will stay just one night in Kathmandu upon arrival. The next morning, you will fly to Pokhara and drive to Ulleri village, where your 7-day trek begins.

The trek passes through the bustling Poon Hill (Ghorepani) route, known for its breath-taking panoramas. From there, it continues into a quieter, less-traveled region toward Khopra ridge, leading to Khayar Lake at an elevation of 4,660 meters the highest point of the journey. This trek will be ending at Ghandruk Gurung village, as itinerary.

After the trek, drive back to Pokhara to relax and enjoy two nights at your hotel. From Pokhara, you will take a scenic 200 km tourist bus drive back to Kathmandu for another two nights before taking your flight home on 14th day.

Note: See below for an overview of the 14-day Ghorepani Khopra ridge journey. For complete details on Kathmandu hotels, trekking routes, elevation, walking times, meals, and accommodations, refer to the "Day-by-Day Itinerary" at the bottom of this page.

Safety note - Animal caravans:  In the Khopra ridge region, you will frequently encounter caravans of Mules transporting goods. If you hear bells ringing in the distance, start looking for a wide spot in the trail to step aside immediately.

It’s much easier to find a safe spot early than to scramble when the caravan is right on top of you. Always move to the mountainside (the inner wall) of the trail and wait for the animals to pass. Never stand on the cliff-side edge.

Emergency rescue if necessary: Your safety is our top priority. In the event of serious illness or injury, ground transport is too slow due to the remote terrain. The fastest and most reliable option is emergency helicopter evacuation.

We can arrange an emergency helicopter evacuation from any point on the trail back to Kathmandu within a few hours (weather permitting). To ensure a smooth and life-saving rescue.

Travel insurance: Unfortunate illness or injury can happen to anyone, anywhere. In the remote mountain regions where we trek, your safety is paramount. Because ground transport to the nearest clinic can be slow, we rely on rapid aerial response.

•    Helicopter rescue: From Kathmandu, offers the fastest rescue service but is extremely expensive.

•    Action required: We strongly advise you to issue a comprehensive travel insurance policy from your home country or in Kathmandu. Your policy must specifically cover emergency helicopter evacuation and medical expenses at high altitudes up to 3,000 meters.

Our team will handle all the logistics with your insurance provider and the helicopter operators so that you can focus entirely on recovery.

Pro Tip: Please Always carry a digital and printed copy of your insurance certificate and the 24-hour emergency contact number for your provider.
