Namaste! Welcome, for moderate camping trek at Manang, Nar Phu Khangla and Tilicho Mesakonto pass.
Nar phu village is completely remote at Manang region, situated at west Nepal. it is really beautiful where you can see real nature, several Himalayan peaks and old villages with their own society and Buddhist culture. At this region very less trekkers, because everywhere tea houses and lodges are not available. Maybe near future it will be better for all trekkers with more lodges.
Beginning couple day's view looks not good, because you trek through gorge at Nar khola valley, after Phu village you will see spectacular views around you. This trek will start from Koto village, cross the Manang Marshyangdi river, following Nar khola valley to Phu and Nar village, cross Khang la pass 5,360m. descend Manang Marshyangdi valley which is a really busy trekkers route.
Between Koto to Khangla phedi for nine days, we provide tented camping trekking service with tent accommodation and daily meals for the details, please check daily itinerary at the end of this site.
After Manang this trek will follow another less trekkers and adventure route to Tilicho Mesakonto pass, From Tili Cho lake and Mesokanto pass you can see spectacular views of Manang Marshyangdi valley and some parts of other side. Between lake and pass the route is not so difficult trek through loose rockes and up and down. After pass long way descend to yak kharka for the spectacular views of Dhaulagiri range and Kali Gandaki valley.
This trek will start from Koto village (alt. 2,600m.) trek through Nar-Phu village, cross Khangla pass (alt. 5,360m.) descend to Ngawal village. Trek continue Manang and Khangsar village to Tili Cho lake cross Mesokando pass descend to Jomsom airport end the trek.
High passes: During the trek you will cross two high passes Khangla pass (alt. 5,360m.) and Mesakonto pass (alt. 5,330m.)
Himalayan views: During the trek you can see beautiful views, Manaslu, Khang Karu, Himlung, Chio, Chulu east, Lamjung, Annapurna II.III, IV, Ganga purna, Glacier doom, Tili cho and Throng peak as well. The next view you can see from Mesakonto pass. From Mesakonto, you can see both side views Marshyangdi valley and Kaligandaki valley. Next view at Kaligandaki valley, you can see Dhaulagiri range, Tukche peak, Annapurna I, Nilgiri and Mustang Tibet border peaks.
Note: During the trekking period from Koto to Khangla phedi for nine days we provide tented camping service, from Ngawal village to Jomsom Bazar for four night we take lodge accommodation with meals.
High altitude sickness and solution: High-altitude sickness occurs when your body can’t get enough oxygen because the lower air pressure at higher elevation above 3,000m. when you ascend too quickly during the trek. At High elevation anyone at any time can be suffering from high-altitude sickness which is common, you don’t have to be nervous but please be attention.
If you feel symptoms of high – altitude (Headache, vomiting, loss your appetite, Dizziness and trouble falling asleep) stop to ascending immediately descend as soon as possible. Eat enough garlic soup, take lots of hot drinks and rest. Next day you will feel better, if not your guide will look for another solution. If you are really serious, we will arrange a rescue helicopter flight from Pokhara, within a couple of hours to save 100% your life.
đź“…Trekking season and weather:Recent days it is complicated about the weather, because of global warming at the mountains and Himalayan region.
Spring (March – May): Trekking at Nar-Phu / Tili Cho region, one of the best times is spring for the spectacular clear views. The stable weather brings excellent visibility. In this season rare flowers like rhododendrons and other various wildflowers are found in full blossom in their brightest colours.
Autumn (September-November): For this region Autumn has one of the spectacular, uninterrupted views of the mountains and high Himalayas. Perfect temperatures make trekking days even more enjoyable.
Winter (December-February): During the winter months, heavy snowfall may block the high pass and Tili Cho lake, it is not possible complete the trek. But clear skies at the low elevations, the air is clean and provides excellent visibility. Temperatures drop significantly in the morning and night.
Summer (June-August): Heavy rainfall and lush greenery (if you don’t mind the rain) heavy raining, very poor visibility, landslides, high river levels may block the trekking trails and motor roads.
Hotel accommodation at Kathmandu and Pokhara: During your stay at Kathmandu and Pokhara, we will provide a 3-star hotel, twin sharing basis room with bed and breakfast services.
Restaurant and Daily meals: At Kathmandu and Pokhara there are several restaurants where you can get Indian, Tibetan, Chinese, Nepalese and Continental dishes in veg. or non veg. different kinds of sweet dishes, hot or cold drinks available.
Trekking crew (Nepali staff): Without an experience trekking guide and trekking staff (cook, Sherpa helpers, kitchen boys and porters) any adventure trek is not possible. During the trek, guide and Sherpa helpers will set up all tents, porters will carry all your heavy luggage. Trekking cook and kitchen staff prepare fresh, hot, and delicious breakfast, lunch, and dinner every day for your service. Our entire Nepalese staff team works together even at elevations above 4,000 m. without hesitate.
Daily activities and meals during the trek: Early in the morning, Sherpa and kitchen staff will bring a hot drink (coffee or tea) at your tent, followed by a bowl of warm washing water to freshen up. You can pack up your duffle bag for upcoming journey and join for the breakfast which will be served warm and fresh at the table with scenic panorama of mountains.
In day time, you can stroll around peacefully, take scenic pictures and visit local villages, monasteries or schools with your guide and Sherpas. Fresh and warm lunch with hot drinks will be serve between 11:00 to 13:00 after lunch rest about one hours, than continue the trek.
In the afternoon at the camp, your tent will be set up, and your mattress and luggage will be brought inside the tent. The kitchen staff will bring warm or cold water to clean your face and hands. After freshening up, you can relax in the dining tent with hot drinks, biscuits, and cheese. You will have plenty of time to rest before dinner. Each day cook will prefer fresh buffet dinner, beginning with soup, minimum five cuisine with hot drinks. At dinner time, your guide will ask about the day's trek and explain the program for the next morning.
Please Note: At high elevation it takes time to prepare hot and fresh lunch, to save the time, we provide pack lunch (picnic) with hot juice and tea during the explore.
Flight and transportation: For this trek drive from Kathmandu to Koto village by privet jeep or bus as group size. After complete the trek morning flight from Jomsom to Pokhara for the Himalayan views. Pokhara to Kathmandu drive by tourist bus service. Trekking equipment and accommodation: For this high elevation trek, you need warm equipment and sleeping bag. If you don’t have such, you can hire or buy at Kathmandu as your size. For the tented camping trek, we provide two man sharing double tents or single supplement high altitude tents with double (Foam + waterproof) mattresses, dining tent with folding table and stools, kitchen tent with kitchen utensils, toilet tent, shower tent, staff and porter’s tent. Trekking equipment check list: For this high elevation Pikey peak -Dud kunda trek, we suggest you take with you: Trekking boots, light shoes / trainers, woollen socks (x 3) woollen caps, warm hand gloves, warm or fibre pile jacket, down jacket, windproof jacket & trouser, fleece or sweater, shirts (x 2), long and short trekking trousers (and /or long skirt for women), waterproof poncho or umbrella, sun hat, (3x) underwear etc.
Other essential items: Kitbag and padlock, small rucksack, down sleeping bag (4 seasons +) with inner liner, water bottle (1 litre capacity), head torch, personal first aid, sun and snow glasses/goggles, sun cream (factor 15+) & lip slave, towel & wash kit, whistle, passport, passport-size photographs, plastic bags, money belt.
Optional: Camera (with high-capacity memory cards and extra batteries), trekking poles / walking sticks, binoculars, notebook, pen etc.
