Dear all trekkers,
Namaste! Welcome, for an adventure lodging plus tented camping trek at Rolwaling Tashi Labtsa to Mt. Everest Khumbu region. 

Tashi Labtsa is one of the beautiful trekking region for the Himalayan views, there are very less trekkers it is really difficult and adventure, everyone can't complete the trekking. Rolwaling and Khumbu region is world famous Sherpa’s villages. Between this two regions Tashi Labtsa pass stand as a border.  At Rolwaling and Khumbu, there are several Sherpa man and woman who summited Mt. Everest 8,848.86m. 

At this region Gaurishankar Conservation Area was established in January 2010, covering 2,179 sq. km. and Sagarmāthā National Park (Mt. Everest region) was established in 1976 an area of 1,148 sq. km. where you can watch very closely  many wild animals and birds. 

After cross the Tashi Labtsa (alt. 5,755m.)  there are two options, trek continue to Gokyo valley to Mt. Everest base camp, cross Renjo pass  (alt. 5,360m.) or  trekking pass through Thame village to Namche village, back to Lukla airport ending the trek.

During the trek highest elevation will be Tashi Labtsa pass (5,755M.) Recent years camping trek is more expensive because of trekking staffs and local porters. During this trek we will take local lodge accommodation and daily meals from Simi gaou to Na village at Rolwaling region and Khumbu region. After Na village to Tashi Labtsa, there are not any local lodges for four nights, we will provide tented camping accommodation and meals.

This trek will start from Dolkha district Chet Chet village (alt. 1,961m.)  after motor road, cross the suspensiob bridge ascend to Simi gaou village. Trek pass through different Sherpa villages at Rolwaling valley, Tso Rolpa, Rolwaling glacier, Tashi Labtsa to   Thame region. After Thame region trek to Lukla for short duration or trek continue to Renjo pass to Gokyo valley. From Gokyo valley there is two options, trek direct Macharma to Lukla or trek Fortse village to Tyangboche monastery for more views, ending the trek at Lukla airport. 

High altitude sickness and solution: High-altitude sickness occurs when your body can’t get enough oxygen because the lower air pressure at higher elevation above 3,000m. when you ascend too quickly during the trek. At High elevation anyone at any time can be suffering from high-altitude sickness which is common, you don’t have to be nervous but please be attention. 

If you feel symptoms of high – altitude (Headache, vomiting, loss your appetite, Dizziness and trouble falling asleep) stop to ascending immediately descend as soon as possible. Eat enough garlic soup, take lots of hot drinks and rest. Next day you will feel better, if not your guide will look for another solution. If you are really serious, we will arrange a rescue helicopter flight from Kathmandu or Lukla, within a couple of hours to save 100% your life. 

Communication: If some one seriously sick or injured, you have to call at Kathmandu for rescue helicopter. At the Tashi Labtsa region, mobile network service is not available for calling. We will send satellite phone set with enough balance, extra battery and solar charger for emergency call and service.

Himalayan views: At Rolwaling region you can see perfect views of Gauri Shanker, Ramdung, Chabuche, Chekigo, Tamding Yap-Yum, Parchamo and Tibet border peaks. Tashi Labtsa is the middle point for Rolwaling and Khumbu valley. From Tashi Labtsa you can see both side’s spectacular Himalayan views above 8,000m. Mt. Everest, Lhotse, Makalu and Cho oyu. Below 8,000m. Himalayan peaks at Khumbu region: Nuptse, Pumori, Chamlang, Baruntse, Ama Dablam, Thamserku, Khang Tega, Gyajung khang and Tawuche. Trekking peaks: Mera, Cholatse, Labuche, Kwangde, Kusum Khangkaru, Labuche, Kongma Tse, Parchamo and Island peak you can see during the trek. 

📅 Trekking Season and Weather:

Autumn Season (September - November) one of the spectacular, uninterrupted views of the mountains and high Himalaya. Perfect temperatures for trekking, making days enjoyable.
 
Spring Season (March - May) Spectacular clear views. The stable weather brings excellent visibility. Above 3,000m, beautiful landscape with Himalayan rhododendrons and various wildflowers in full blossom.
 
Winter Season (December to February)  In winter it is not possible to cross the Tashi Labtsa pass. But clear skies at low elevations, the air is clean and visibility is excellent. Temperatures drop significantly in the morning and night, requiring warmer gear, trek until Rolwaling valley is possible.

Summer Season (June - August) High rainfall and lush greenery (if you don't mind the rain). Generally, not suitable for trekking. Heavy raining, poor visibility, landslides, and high river levels that may block trekking trails and motor roads.

🍽️ Practical Detail and Trekking Services:

Hotel accommodation at Kathmandu: During your stay at Kathmandu, you will stay at 3-star hotel, twin sharing basis room with bed and breakfast services. 

Restaurant and Daily meals: At Kathmandu, there are several restaurants where you can get Indian, Tibetan, Chinese, Nepalese and Continental dishes in veg. or non veg. different kinds of sweet dishes, hot or cold drinks available.

Trekking crew (Nepali staff): Without an experience trekking guide and trekking staff (cook, Sherpa helpers, kitchen boys and porters) any adventure trek is not possible. During the trek, guide and Sherpa helpers will set up all tents, porters will carry all your heavy luggage. Trekking cook and kitchen staff prepare fresh, hot, and delicious breakfast, lunch, and dinner every day for your service. Our entire Nepalese staff team works together even at elevations above 5,000 m. without hesitate.

Daily activities and meals during the trek: Early in the morning, Sherpa and kitchen staff will bring a hot drink (coffee or tea) at your tent, followed by a bowl of warm washing water to freshen up. You can pack up your duffle bag for upcoming journey and join for the breakfast which will be served warm and fresh at the table with scenic panorama of mountains.

In day time, you can stroll around peacefully, take scenic pictures and visit local villages, monasteries or schools with your guide and Sherpas. Fresh and warm lunch with hot drinks will be serve between 11:00 to 13:00 after lunch rest about one hours, than continue the trek.

In the afternoon at the camp, your tent will be set up, and your mattress and luggage will be brought inside the tent. The kitchen staff will bring warm or cold water to clean your face and hands. After freshening up, you can relax in the dining tent with hot drinks, biscuits, and cheese. You will have plenty of time to rest before dinner. Each day cook will prefer fresh buffet dinner, beginning with soup, minimum five cuisine with hot drinks. At dinner time, your guide will ask about the day's trek and explain the program for the next morning.

Please Note:  At high elevation it takes time to prepare hot and fresh lunch, to save the time we provide pack lunch (picnic) with hot juice and tea. 

Flight and Transportation:  For this trek we provide vehicle service drive from Kathmandu to Chet Chet village. After trek flight from Lukla / Kathmandu. For the details, please check at daily itinerary at the end of this page.

Trekking equipment and accommodation: For this high elevation trek, you need warm equipment and sleeping bag. If you don’t have such, you can hire or buy at Kathmandu as your size. For the tented camping trek, we provide two man sharing double tents or single supplement high altitude tents with double (Foam + waterproof) mattresses, dining tent with folding table and stools, kitchen tent with kitchen utensils, toilet tent, shower tent, staff and porter’s tent. High altitude equipment for the staff and porters. 

Trekking equipment check list: Trekking boots, light shoes / trainers, down or fibre pile jacket, fleece or sweater, shirts (x 2), long and short trekking trousers (and /or long skirt for women), windproof jacket & trouser, waterproof poncho, sun hat, woollen cap, gloves, woollen socks (x 3), underwear.

Other essential items: Kitbag and padlock, small rucksack, down sleeping bag (4 seasons +) with inner liner, water bottle (1 litre capacity), head torch, personal first aid, sun and snow glasses/goggles, sun cream (factor 15+) & lip slave, towel & wash kit, whistle, passport, passport-size photographs, plastic bags, money belt.

Optional: Camera (with high-capacity memory cards and extra batteries), trekking poles / walking sticks, binoculars, notebook, pen etc.

Daily Itinerary

Warm Welcome: Upon your arrival at the Tribhuvan international airport, Our representative will meet you at the airport terminal with a personalized sign, handling your luggage, welcome you with colourful flowers, drive to star hotel as your booking. Upon arrival at your hotel, you will be served a refreshing welcome drink at reception while our team assists with your check-in.

First Evening & Briefing: In the evening, you can enjoy dinner at your hotel or a local restaurant. During this time, our Tour Manager will conduct a comprehensive briefing, covering your trekking itinerary, safety protocols, and any other essential information for your upcoming adventure.

  3-star hotel as your booking at Kathmandu.

Kathmandu is a major centre for culture and heritage, home to several Buddhist stupas and Hindu temples. If you are interested, you can spend the day after breakfast visiting various sites across Kathmandu, Bhaktapur, and Patan. While you can hire a taxi for longer distances, you can enjoy a rickshaw (three-wheel bicycle) ride or simply walk within the Kathmandu city centre.
Please note that most sites require an entry fee. In Thamel, the main tourist hub, you will find many shops selling trekking equipment and souvenirs. Keep in mind that the Nepalese market is quite different from Western ones—always remember to ask for a discount! For lunch and dinner, there are many high-quality restaurants offering diverse menus for every appetite.
  3-star hotel with bed and breakfast.

Early breakfast, your guide will pick you up at the hotel, drive with trekking staffs about 8 hours by private vehicle to Chet Chet village. After drive, take out the luggage cross the suspension bridge at Tama koshi river, trek about one and half hours to Simi Gaou for overnight lodge accommodation.

 Breakfast + lunch + dinner with hot drinks.  Lodging at Simi Gaou.   Approx. 2 hours.

After breakfast at camp, start your first day trek continue through beautiful pine forest, cross several small rivers and villages, lunch on the way overnight lodge accommodation  at Dong gang.  

 Breakfast + lunch + dinner with hot drinks.  Lodging. Approx. 6 to 7 hours.

After breakfast, an easy trek through the valley, lunch stop on the way, trek continues through rhododendron forest overnight lodge accommodation at Beding Sherpa village. At this village there are many famous Sherpa families, who climbed several time peaks above 8,000m.    

 Breakfast + lunch + dinner with hot drinks.  Lodging.  Approx. 5 to 6 hours.

After breakfast, trek continue through yak pastures and fields to the valley lunch stop on the way overnight lodge accommodation at Na village, good camp side with beautiful Himalayan views.

Now you are above (alt.4,000m.) heigh, you need to rest for high acclimatization. After breakfast, day explore to Tsho Rolpa and back to the camp for lunch. You can see very beautiful view of Tashi labtsa valley and Takarding glaciers from the camp site. Overnight accommodation at same lodge.

From today, you will get pack lunch (picnic) with hot tea or juice, there are no more tea houses or lodges until Thami village at Khumbu regioin. After breakfast, trek through several yak pastures, pack lunch (picnic) on the way, trek continues overnight tented camp at Tsho Rolpa, good camp site with beautiful views.                                             

 Breakfast + lunch + dinner with hot drinks.  Tented camp.  Approx. 4 to 5 hours.

From Tso Rolpa, Rolwaling glacier will start until Tashi Laptsa base camp. At glacier it takes time to fixing the route and put the camp, because of rocks fall.  Tso Rolpa to Trakarding or Tholim Bau Glacier o/n camping (alt. 4,847m.) 
Early morning after breakfast, trek through Takarding glacier, pack lunch on the way at glacier with hot tea or juice, trek continues to Drolambau Takarding glacier for overnight tented camp. Camp site not comfortable at glacier but very beautiful views.  
At the glacier, afternoon melt the ice and snow, slippery and stone may fall down, better trek early in the morning.

 Breakfast + pack lunch + dinner with hot drinks.  Tented camp. Approx. 6 to 7 hours.

Your guides will give a detail information about climbing, he will demonstrate about how to use crampons, rope, Ascender, how to ascend and descend. Early breakfast, trek pass through glacier up and down trail, pack lunch on the way at glacier, trek continues to below Tashi labtsa, some place you many needs fix ropes. Camp site not comfortable at the glacier but very beautiful views.         

 Breakfast + lunch + dinner with hot drinks.  Tented camp.  Approx. 6 to 7 hours.

Today trekking staff are back to Kathmandu, early morning after breakfast, with some porters and a guide gradually climbing to Tashi Labtsa pass. Some parts at the rock, you need fix ropes. Your guide will fix the route. Pack lunch at Tashi Labtsa pass 5,755m. from Tashi Labtsa pass you can see around a spectacular view of Rolwaling, Jugal and khumbu Himalayan views. As my experience many trekkers are very happy at this point. After pass descend to Tyangbo tea house for night accommodation.  

 Breakfast + lunch + dinner with hot drinks.  Tented camp.   Approx. 8 to 10 hours.

Now you are at low elevation, no more risk and danger. After breakfast easy  trek to Thami village for night accommodation at lodge. On the way visit Thame monastery which is one of the famous monastery at Khumbu region. 

Note: After Tyangbo this trek can combine with Renjo pass to Gokyo valley.

 Breakfast + lunch + dinner with hot drinks.  Lodging at Thame village. Approx. 4 to 5 hours.

After Thami village, Khumbu region trekking route will be more busy than Rolwaling valley. After breakfast trek to Khumjung Sherpa village for lunch and overnight accommodation at Hotel or lodge. After lunch at Khumjung visit Everest view hotel at Shyangboche. Everest view is the world highest elevation hotel run by Japanese. Back to Khumjung visit the monastery and Sherpa villages. 

 Breakfast + lunch + dinner with hot drinks.  Lodging at Khumjung village. Approx. 4 hours.

Morning Trek: After breakfast in Khumjung, you take a short but steady 30 to 45-minute uphill climb and descend Shyangboche airport for rest. Steep descend to Namche Bazaar for lunch. 

The Steep Descent: After lunch, we begin the long, steep descent from Namche Bazaar to Larja Dobhan. We cross the high suspension bridges once more, looking back at the confluence of the rivers at Larja Dobhan.

Exiting the National Park: We pass through the village of Jorsalle and officially check out of the Sagarmatha National Park before reaching the quiet village of Monjo (2,845m). Monjo is a much quieter place to spend the night compared to Namche. The lodges here are cozy and surrounded by greenery, providing a perfect atmosphere for a restful evening after a long day of downhill trekking.

The Journey Complete: After breakfast in Monjo, we begin our final day of trekking. We retrace our steps through the lush valley, passing through Benkar and Phakding, where the landscape is now familiar and the air is warm.

  • Lunch at Ghat: We will stop for a final trail lunch in the village of Ghat. After lunch, there is one last gentle uphill climb to reach Lukla. Walking through the "Passang Lhamu Gate" marks the official completion of your trekking journey!
  • A Night accommodation: Upon arrival in Lukla, we check into a standard hotel. After weeks in the mountains, you can enjoy a hot shower and a celebratory dinner.

Farewell to the Team: This evening is the traditional time to say goodbye to your porters and guide. If you are satisfied with the service and the incredible effort of your team, it is customary to offer tips as a gesture of thanks for their hard work and dedication in helping you reach your goals.

The flight to Kathmandu: After an early breakfast in Lukla, we head to the Tenzing-Hillary Airport for your flight back. As you lift off, enjoy one last bird’s-eye view of the Himalayan giants you just conquered.

Direct Flight: If operating directly to Kathmandu, the flight takes approximately 30 to 35 minutes.

Flight via Ramechhap: During peak trekking seasons, your 20 minutes flight will land at Manthali Airport (Ramechhap). From there, our private vehicle will be waiting to drive you back to Kathmandu (approximately a 5-hour scenic drive).

Back to Comfort: Upon arrival in Kathmandu, our representative will transfer you to your 3-star hotel. Enjoy a refreshing welcome drink at the reception as you check in.

Relaxation: The rest of the day is yours. Whether you want to enjoy a spa, hot shower, get a foot massage, or simply relax in a café in Thamel, this is your time to unwind and celebrate your success.
